We thoroughly enjoyed our two day pass to the thermal pools. Having a two day pass was really good as we went during the day & at night while fitting in other activities in between. There is a pool for everyone & we all had our favorite's. Kids loved the slides but did get cold quickly waiting at the top. The men's changing sheds near entrance being out of service was annoying & not very well communicated. I saw a lot of men walking around wondering where to go. Would have been good if they mentioned it when entering the pools. All in all a great experience & can't wait to return.

Popped along with the family in winter and after buying entrance tickets we realized that the lockers were a $2 coin only, so all the way back out we had to go to get change. Then we found the Male Change sheds were being renovated and had to walk to the other side of the park to get changed. The kids wanted to go on the water slides but we found out that we needed special wrist bands so back outside again I went to purchase the wrist bands. Then I found out that I needed the kids with me!!!! Grrrrrrr....... Wish they had told me all of this at the start. Do you need change for the locker? Please be aware that the Only Male Change Rooms are by the Children's Pools! Do the kids want Slide Passes? Would not be so hard when buying the tickets!!!!
Once in and changed we enjoyed the facilities and the kids loved the slides. We found the only pool you could actually keep warm in was the 42 degree pool. All the others were just too cold. Even the Super Top got too cold for the kids after they queued for a long time. The worst part was the cold floor on top of the tower while you queued for your chance. Some rubber mats up top of the tower would go along way to making the experience more enjoyable. Tips - take $2 coins for the locker. If you with kids take rashers to keep them warm and footwear for the footpaths and change sheds!

We travelled to Hanmer Springs especially to experience these Hot pools. Upon arrival just after lunch time we could see the town was full of day travellers, camper vans, tourists & families. So we decided to stay the night & go to the hot pools later on after dinner once the crowds had died down. Luckily we had the foresight to join up online as Members via their website before going because after a quick photo session & registration onsite our first visit was FREE! The whole layout is fantastic with lots of different types of pool to enjoy from simple splash pools to soak & relax mineral pools. The kids area is loads of fun under the big slides, with a waterfall you can play behind, a tipping bucket above that catches you completely by surprise & a slide to play on. My only criticism is that being open at night (till 9pm) & in the middle of winter they could have accounted for the conditions by placing outdoor heating of some sort along the paths & near the changing rooms - getting in & out of the pools & travelling between them was most unpleasant & had us dreading getting out, moving to another & going to get dressed! Even the lifeguards were dressed up like Eskimos with layers of clothing on, hats, gloves, big thick jackets & trousers...making you wonder how on earth they would get out of them quick enough if someone needed saving - I'm sure they would appreciate a nice tall outside gas heater to stand near whilst performing their duties :-)

This was a great half day experience. The skin feels so soft and rejuvenated afterwards. It was a bit expensive at $20 each just for shared thermal pools. Great little cafés around the area too. You really can spend a day in the area.

Nice & relaxing & plenty of pools to choose from also able to get good food & drink from Cafe. The men's changing rooms were a bit limited as they were updating some of them.
