“Great exposure to Brunei lifestyle.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 January 2014

My mother and me recently stayed at this place for our very first visit to Brunei. It is the best choice i ever made as the host is really accomodating and the whole package of the homestay really exposed us to Brunei culture, eventhough we are from Malaysia which share almost the same culture.

Accomodation, meals and tours are great and is worth for the price they offer for the package.

Definitely would suggest to any solo traveller on budget as its provide transport to airport, having learn that the public transport is not a very good idea to get in and around here as it is expensive, and great for small group and families too.

This is our first time to try a "homestay program" and the experience was fantastic. Hady and his wife were such a nice couple. They, too, were friendly, hospitable and accommodating. The accommodation, tour and meals, even airport transfers (all in one package), that they offer at low price was a great idea for travellers-on-a-budget.

Scanning hotel options and not finding any to my needs (solo traveler arriving early morning), TripAdvisor gave me another choice. Barely a day before my flight, I had the serendipitous luck (a last-minute unfortunate back-out made room for me) to find accommodations at Baitul Waijah. More than the majestic mosques, organized museums, trip to Kampong Ayer, and shopping side trips, I will remember my first travel to Brunei with my stay here. Homestay + wonderful hosts = a cultural glimpse of the way the Brunei people live their everyday lives. From the welcome at the airport, solicitousness for my food (introduced me to lots of Brunei Malay food), sleep and tours in the city, I felt like living with relatives - could not ask for anything more. Great for families and small groups too!

Room Tip: All the rooms are great, depends on your needs, light and a/c are good.

Me and my wife recently stayed at this home stay about 20 mins from city center and we received some of the finest hospitality. We were given different great tastes of Brunei each morning lunch and evening. Driven around Brunei and shown most of the coolest things it has to offer. We learned lots about Brunei and it's culture staying at this lovely safe welcoming and warm home stay. Thank you for the wonderful time to the family we can definitely recommend the home stay to people who are interested in Brunei s culture people and delicious food

We really enjoyed our stay at Baitul Wajihah, it was definitely a highlight of our trip to Brunei Darussalam since it was our first time there. We weren't sure what to expect because we didn't want to feel like we were imposing on someone's home, feel in the way or find the hosts overbearing! Our experience was far from this as Haji Muslin and his wife's hospitality is spot on. Although we chose to have a full-on two days and a night stay, there is no pressure to do any activities, if you wanted to relax and chill, the hosts would be equally happy allowing you the space and time to do so. Their approach to homestay is perfect, and it was a real pleasure to stay at Baitul Wajihah and spend time with Haji Muslin's family.
