Stayed here for eight days in July 2014. The hotel is just lovely. Tonia, the owner, has spent a lot of time and effort upgrading the hotel, and her work shows. She is always on site making sure everything runs well. I have to give kudos as well to pretty much the entire staff - they have a passion for their jobs, and represent the best in classic Greek hospitality.
The chef is brilliant - his food is creative while respecting Greek traditions, The cheese pie he prepared at breakfast one morning was incredible, As a tea lover, I like the fact they have a variety of loose leaf teas from a Greek supplier in the morning - typical of the attention to detail. Two other items not to miss are the mezze plate (a great take on a classic) and the green apple mojitos (ask the bartender in the white glasses).
The pool, the views, the gardens the architecture, and the lobby/restaurants furnishings are all stunning. My only slight caveat would be the rooms. I had a basic level room. It was very comfortable and classically simple - the best parts were the renovated bathroom and the spacious terrace with nice table and chairs and beautiful view. It was fine for a vacation, but some minor details were missing, and the bedding could be improved somewhat. Also, the hot water and pressure in the shower are not optimal, especially at peak times, but that is normal in Mykonos. However, these do not prevent me from rating this hotel "excellent" - everything else more than makes up for it.
I would note the hotel is on the quiet end of Mykonos, and would recommend having a car. It was nice being able to go to Elia Beach in 10 minutes and the main town in 20 minutes, yet retreat to a quiet oasis. Most of the other guests were quiet, well dressed and well behaved families - they kept a watchful eye on the kids. Everyone respected others' privacy, and preserved the ambiance well.
My congratulations to Tonia and her team for a great vacation - would highly recommend the Archipelagos and gladly return - they just make you feel like a special and welcome guest.
