Two teenagers and parents had a four night stay. Fantastic location! Very relaxing and laid back. Great for wildlife and birdspotting! Teenage boy enjoyed the opportunity of the bike trail and we all enjoyed the nearby gamepark. Lodge has great local furnishings and atmosphere. Rooms were very private and comfortable - mosquito nets, sheets towels etc. all very high quality. Really nice en sutie showers and toilets that flush!!!

We visited Rwakobo Rock in August two months before they were due to officially open for business. Our stay was memorable on all accounts: from the individually designed rooms to the breathtaking balcony views from atop scenic rocks to the wonderful meals that await the discerning gourmet. If waking up to the sound of chirping birds and lullabied to bed with the symphony of criquets is your thing, Rwakobo Rock is the place to be! Easy views of Freckled nightjar, Pennant-winged nightjar, Black-shouldered nightjar, Square-tailed nightjar and stunning views of the near endemic red-faced barbet from the breakfast table!!

We visited this lodge in February before the construction work was complete but can report that the location is stunning, with the various accommodation units placed in strategic spots across this rock outcrop, all enjoying great views and privacy. The restaurant is given pride of place at the top of the rock and has views across the surrounding countryside with every chance of seeing zebra, antelope and the famous longhorn cattle which are reared by the local population and can be seen walking past the lodge daily.
The lodge is located outside of the National Park but close to one of the entrance gates, the abundance of wildlife meant that we saw plenty without entering the park and we enjoyed walking amongst the many zebra, warthogs and antelope. The accommodation units, whilst not complete when we visited, are sympathetically located and constructed of local materials so that they blend in nicely. The bathrooms looked interesting and better than many others we experienced during our Uganda trip.
When completed, if this isn't already the case, this lodge will certainly have the "wow factor" and I shall look forward to a return trip.
The proprietors have a real passion for the area and its animals (they were even hand rearing an orphaned bush buck brought to them by local villagers!) and ensured that we had every opportunity to see as much as possible during our stay. Finally, the welcome we enjoyed on arrival, especially the ice cold drink, really set the tone for a great visit.
