“Serene Locality - Away from crowd”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2014

We had been over the long weekend to Madikeri and stayed here for 3 days. The stay was wonderful. We stayed in a Suite. The view from the hotel is quite serene. Food was delicious and reasonably priced though the menu is limited , everything we ordered was well - prepared. Service is just ok not too great. Overall a decent place to chill out away from the crowd.

Room Tip: Take the rooms on first floor gives you a good view and feels less damp during monsoons.

Stayed one day with family, the location and food is superb. Hotel is located just above the Raja Seat tourist spot. View from the room is awesome; strongly recommend for families with kids. Center for most of the attractions in Coorg.

I didn't stay at Mayura Valley View but it's a definite go to place when in Madikeri,Coorg...the View from the Outdoor covered Pattio restaurant is simply breathtaking...food is reasonably priced and quite nice..Try the typical Kodava (Coorg cuisine) or basic tried and tested popular staples like chilly chicken, indian chinese etc. Bar is well stocked and reasonably priced too and a brandy with hot water the perfect drink to enjoy in the cool, rainy outdoors and a lovely scenic view...the property itself looked rather nice and is seemingly a perfect option for a family getaway too...

The hotel is very appropriately located, close enough to Raja's seat and Madikeri market to walk down but far enough to be away from the crowd and offer a lovely view. The view from our first floor room was amazing. The reception and housekeeping staff were also very helpful and prompt. Food is ok, usual stuff is good, service is prompt but options are limited. Also strict timings about when tea and coffee are available (not at lunch/ dinner times). The Ayurveda Centre at the hotel is also very nice. Very cheap and a reasonable treatment. Overall, great value for money!

Stayed here for 5 days during monsoon. Excellent location amidst mist, cloud and rain. Request first floor rooms for the valley view.Rooms are spacious and well furnished. Food is good. However complementary breakfast is not having much choice. Ample parking facility and walkable distance to bus stand.

Like someone said you can't ask more than this from a govt hotel. Spacious rooms, excellent room service, superb location, professional staff. And yes good food too. The TV picture quality is better than what we get in Bangalore with Hathway set top box!

I travelled to this hotel on last year during monsoons and reaching there why Coorg is known as Scotland of India!

About the hotel: The hotel is little away (about 1 km) from the Madikeri bus stand and near to Raja's seat or tourism office. Has a big courtyard where your children can play, more than sufficient space to park your vehicle and a Kerala message centre too.

About the rooms: Rooms are big enough with decent and clean bathrooms. Hot water was also available during the day time. An extra cot/bed was provided for the extra person we had. Since, I visited during Monsoons I felt there was a mild damp too.

About the Food: The breakfast is complimentary with limited food options. You can order other stuffs too at your cost. Food quality is basic but good and hygenic and of course you will get some North Indian dishes too. The restaurant is also equipped with a bar.

Overall, a good property!

Room Tip: Ask for 1st floor rooms
