“Nice Waterfall”
Review of Abbey Falls

Abbey Falls
Ranked #2 of 13 things to do in Madikeri
Attraction details

One reaches Abbey Falls after a long trek into the valley. the trip to the falls was very nice and there are well built steps which take you down to the falls. however, the trek back can be arduous because of the height. The falls itself are impressive and one can cross the wood and rope bridge to have a better look.

Short hike from the road to see this beautiful falls. The trek is slightly strenuous if you are not used to walking. Nice views from the waking bridge.

The Abbey Falls are located in Madikeri. Took us about 1hour to reach from Kushalnagar. Its a nice, serene place with just the waterfall. Thankfully no tiny shops selling eatables around the falls, so its still in a sane condition. But of course there are fools who bring along food only to drop it down into the flowing waters and then see what happens next!!! Please preserve the place you visit, don't litter. We're not the only ones who wish to enjoy that place.

Makes for a peaceful Photo-worthy visit.

The mother nature hides this serene wonderful waterfall in a midst of a coffee plantation...The falls comes to full beauty during rainfall. One gets dumbstruck by it's awesomeness, by it's roaring fall!!!
We felt the bridge could have been slightly near the fall.
The place leading to the waterfall is filled with either sides lush green nature. One must simply enjoy the calmness and the roaring beauty of the place. The waterfall makes us feel inside we are just a tiny puppet in the hands of Mother Nature...
PS: Relish Tender coconut, a must see place during Rainy season...

The falls are ok, the pathway down leading to the water falls need a lot of maintaining and upkeep the hand rails/bars are broken the steps are littered with garbage. The garbage is a sore spot that could be turned around to make the place beautiful and enjoyable. Most important ban eatables and water if possible....as the place is littered with empty plastic bottles bags and snack packs, only cameras should be allowed. Some info about the trees and other surrounding would be welcome to outsiders.
