Stayed for 2 nights. No changing of bed sheets, towels, no room cleaning, no telephone for internal or service calls, drinking water on demand only, unnecessary and hefty charges for touring around. Being veg and going to this place is like crime. AVOID.

Tarkarli is over hyped place on internet with no places to visit on actual site. There are much more clean , good and tranquil beaches in konkan & Goa. In Tarkarli these hotel people charge you for Dolphin safari and some 4-5 points Rs 1800 to 2000 and if you own your vehicle & drive to Devbag ( or take a bus) which is 5-6 km only from tarkarli the charges for same trip are 600 to 800 rs. Believe me even this amount is not worth. Snorkeling is pure waste of time & money. Only point of attraction is what they call Scuba diving which is in Malvan & not in Tarkarli. Charges 1200 per person for 20-25 min( they tell 45 min). Please do not waste your money and time.

Suggestion : Stay at MTDC only if you feel to go to Tarkali and for scuba goto Malvan. If you want real scuba & underwater world experience with clan ,tranquil utterly unpolluted beaches take out more time and goto Andaman & Nicobar Islands. You will never forget any moment of the visit.

Room Tip: DO Not go to these place

What a hidden gem. Manager Mr Raju has made this place oasis. Very nice rooms, very nice food. Would like to stay there for 3 months and enjoy Raju's hospitality. Yes it is that nice and so very safe. Beach is excellent and just a short walk from hotel in the rear.

Last fortnight I along with my family and friends (a group of 10 adults including 8 senior citizens) had a trip to Konkan for a week and put up at Gajanan for 2N/3D. At Gajanan there are two types of rooms: Konkani House and AC Rooms. We had booked five Konkani rooms for our group. The rooms were good but everyday cleaning is not done by the staff. You will have to request the staff for cleaning. The advantage of Gajanan is its location. The beach is just 2-3 min. away from the rooms. Gajanan is situated just 300 to 400 mts. Away from MTDC Tarkarli and Gajanan charges almost one third of MTDC, Tarkarli. The location and rates are the major advantages of Gajanan.
Non veg food was very good but the same is not true for Veg food. In veg food we liked only “Ukadiche Modak” othe veg dishes were not at all tasty. If you want to have veg food try other restaurant.

Room Tip: Road facing Konkani rooms are good.

Stayed there for 3 nights early this week. Rooms could have been cleaner, bathrooms less dirty, service a little enthusiastic, atmosphere a bit more cheerful and food somewhat tasty. Sorry, I cannot agree with those who wrote good reviews before me. May be they were more fortunate or those days were better for the hotel. However, rooms were spacious and breezy and so sleep quality was very good.

A bit of good training for the management as well as the staff can turn this property in to an excellent stay because it does have many things going for it.

Room Tip: If you must, take rooms on the first room of the multi-storey building. Ger the mirror and toilets c...

I had a Wonderful Experience here. Rooms are very spacious, airy and clean. Beach is hardly at 2 mins walking distance. I loved the staff! They greeted us well and were always at our service! I would definetly stay here again.

I stayed at Gajanan for 2N/3D in Mar 2012. I had taken their AC room. The room was spacious and clean. Beach was walking distance, hardly 2 mins. Their meals, both veg as well as non-veg were very good and well made. Staff was very helpful and co-operative.
One improvement area - AC is still not on DG back-up. Rest of the lights are on inverter back-up. So when the power fails, the ACs shut down and if that happens in the middle of the night, creates a few problems.

Room Tip: I did not stay in the non-AC cottages, but they looked good. Not sure whether they will have the app...
