Rooms were clean and decent. we have chosen A.C. rooms.

But people with low budget can go for non a.c. room as there is no differance between both except a.c.

There is place for parking of your car.

Staff service was very poor. There was no Manager to wel-come us.

They have not helped us to transfer our luggage to room.

Their behaviour was pathetic.

Food is the worst part. Even the Tea was not good.

Location is 5-10 mins walking distance from Tarkarli beach.

In all average budget hotel to stay.

But please don’t go for food.

We stayed here for four nights, enjoying the nearby beach and the laid back atmosphere of Tarkarli village life. The location is perfect being about halfway Long the peninsular so it's easy to visit both sides and either end. The manager, Kamlesh was really helpful in advising what activities & places to visit were nearby, arranging local rickshaws and a car & driver when we left. The building itself is a bit characterless & they could improve the sitting and eating area, but the rooms were excellent, spacious , comfortable, kept spotlessly clean with new towels and sheets daily which we didn't find anywhere else on our 2 months of travel in India. The restaurant was only average but there are plenty of places nearby. We'd recommend to anyone looking for good quality at a good price.

We stayed at Tarkarli Niwas Nyahari from 25th to 27th January and absolutely loved the stay. the rooms are very clean and its absolutely value for money.
When you enter Tarkarli village, you may see many hording with Niwas Nyahari written on it.
However, do search for Zantye Tarkarli Niwas Nyahari. Its an RC structure on the ground floor and does not come across as a typical multi-storey hotel. They have around 12 rooms of which half are with AC and half without AC.

we paid INR.1000 per night per Non AC room and it was worth it. The AC room was costing INR 1500 which was very economical too.

Although they do not have any beach facing rooms, the beach is just 5 minutes walk from the hotel. You cross the road, hike the 10 feet tall sand mountain, cross a small house and there is long clean tarkarli Beach.

Its absolutely your private beach.

The restaurant within the hotel is good, but comparatively the prices are higher than what you would pay in the other local home made hotels.

My suggestion is that you try one meal at this hotel and then ask them to give you a bill then and there itself. Generally, the hotel reception will tell you that the accumulated bill will be given to you at the check out, however, avoid that situation as you may end up paying higher than what you anticipated. Once you get an idea of how much the one time meal costs, then you can decide if it is worth spending on food in the hotel restaurant.

There are many other home made restaurants in the vicinity which you must try.

Anyway, coming back to hotel...there is ample space for parking your vehicle. There are three hammocks kept at the hotel which you can certainly use.

We asked the hotel to arrange for a Scuba Diving session for us and they did it for us. The experience was amazing and the safety standards were not compromised on.

The staff is very generous and helpful.

Please note that its gets very warm during peak afternoon hours but gets pleasant in the evening and night so if you are planning to spend your afternoon in the hotel relaxing then I suggest you book an AC room.
Of course I an talking about the period I went to Tarkarli on.

I have already written a big review about Tarkarli Beach Resort, then why am I writing a review again you may ask.

Well it’s because this was my third and longest visit to this place and that also on New Year week. In fact I celebrated by New Years Eve in Tarkarli and it was the best New Years that I have ever had and all this because of Kamlesh (Manager of the resort).

So what is new now?

1) For starters - Scuba diving is now managed by a central association, which basically means that the rates are same across all the Scuba diving and water sport operations. The new rates are -
• Scuba Diving - 1500
• Snorkeling - 400
• Sindhudurg Fort - 50

2) Parasailing is the new addition to the water sports activity (which are - Jet Ski, motor scooter, Kayaking, banana ride, bumpy ride). The charge for parasailing is 1000 per person.

Now what’s for the big thing that I did for New Years Eve? I wanted to do something different and if possibly unique. And the idea that was on my mind was going to a secluded island and celebrating New Year just with my friends and no one. So I ran my idea through Kamlesh and he promptly said that it can be arranged. He hooked me up with a friend of his who own a boat and we agreed on the plan. On New Year’s Eve, we left for the island on the boat with logs for camp fire, foods, chairs and fireworks. The island in question was Tsunami island itself (this is the place where water sports are done in the morning), which in the night goes underwater, but never too deep. Once we reach the island, the water was a little over our ankle and not that cold. We setup the fire on the wooden shacks that are setup there. To ensure that the fire does not burn the wooden shacks, our guide (boatman) placed sand on the wooden table and then lit the camp fire over it. It was an awesome sight. It was just us 6, camp fire, under the brilliant starry sky and calm soothing water on our legs. I was one with the universe then and I just loved it. We where there for more than 4 hours, enjoying the beer, camp fire, food and the fantastic atmosphere. And we only paid 1500 for all this (food extra).

If you are interested in doing something like this before the next new year’s then please connect with Kamlesh (+91-9404448555).

For Scuba Diving – as last time connect with Mahesh (+91-9823240054)

We went there in the off season in October 2013 but it was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were reasonable, tariff economical, large and clean the food was good the staff was friendly and like family. The dinning space could be expanded and the time between ordering the food and getting it did take some time. The hotel is situated in a quiet calm street which was good. The beach could be reached in 5mins by foot going through a sandy lane opposite the hotel. For those who wish to take the economical route to see Malvan it is 100% worth it. I recommend it to all.

The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff meticulously cleaned the room and changed bed-sheets, towels everyday. The environment is friendly and the staff is helpful. Hot water was available throughout the day.
Minuses: Tea/ restaurant services are available only after 7 in morning. The place is near a beach but not sea-facing. Food quality is avergae. But you can always walk to other home-stays nearby for better food.

I stayed here with family (3 pax) in early Dec. 2013. This is a simple property but well maintained & clean. Rooms are good & fresh. For a price of Rs. 1500/- per room, I think,it is a great value for money. Pl. note that, they do not have swimming pool & fitness center. It is near the beach (but we can not see beach from the hotel property), just 5 minutes walk to the beach. Tarkarli beach is too good & very clean. When you are at Tarkarli, must visit is "tsunami island". It's a worth trip for dolphin watch & water games. At Malvan, it is a must to have sea food at -"Athithi Bamboo (called as - Bamboo restaurant) - location - near Rock Garden". They serve excellent authentic malvani food thali (recommended are - Surmai thali & prawns thali). Pl. note that Tarkarli & Malvan are not very happening places (like Goa etc.) but they are nice for relaxation & feel of nice & clean beaches & good sea food. And,if you are looking for a simple accommodation with basic facilities (which is value for money), then, you need not look beyond "Tarkarli Niwas Nyahari in Tarkarli, Malvan".
