I guess resort means sprawling grounds. They have old cars that they use to transport people to their rooms. The rooms are in duplex bungalow buildings with little porches. Basic but nicely furnished, quite new. They were building a multi-story, more hotel looking building while I was there. Bit of a hike back to the building where the restaurant is. Not unusual for Burma, there was no hot water in the shower late afternoon. Later in the evening it was fine. The wifi only works in the restaurant and reception building. I did not partake but heard from others in my group that the spa is fabulous! It's in the building across the pool from the restaurant, nothing really to indicate it's there but the massage service is great and very reasonably priced.

Relatively new and nice digs, but already in disrepair. Our room had a dripping shower, a bedside lamp that did not work, the toilet seat was filthy and the sink tap needed to be secured. There are a lot of pluses though. The grounds are quite nice, the rooms are very large, the floors are tile, each room has a mini fridge and a tv, and the wifi is free.
The restaurant is large and quite impersonal. We did not eat dinner there but buffet breakfast was very disappointing, even though it was served in chaffing dishes every dish was cold. Cold eggs, cold rice, and cold noodles. The toast was warm as it was made on the spot. I love breakfast and this was mostly inedible.
The hotel is very quiet at night which facilitates good sleep.
Not many choices in Manymo and this one is OK but don't expect too much

Staying here for a number of weeks due to work commitment nearby. When writing a review, people should understand this is Monywa, Myanmar, not Bangkok or Singapore. Measured by any standard, this hotel is good, it is clean, with nice spacious rooms, very friendly helpful staff, a nice and clean pool and a good enough menu with fresh food, made very well by any standard. The internet works well at reception and mostly well in the rooms. Satellite TV caters for a nice movie every night. Beer is good and the local Myanmar wine is surprisingly drinkable.
For those people writing a negative review comparing this to an average hotel in a more developed country....well I would say F&K off back to Kansas Dorothy and don't come to Myanmar where there luckily (yet) is no KFC, McDonalds or Starbucks.

I was been there 2 night and the place it's really excellent ?..The rooms are new, clean and well equipped, luxury bathroom with hot water and good AC, more than I was expecting in a faraway place. Wifi was not number 1, but that is usual there...it's depend because weather, situation and so on...
Looking the Myanmar standard and prices, it's excellent, as the price for foreigners( around 30 dollars)
The breakfast was good, looking the local standard.
I'm used to travel often in Myanmar and this hotel is really good.
If someone is searching luxury, that is not the place, but it's nice and new and the price is acceptable.
I'm going back there soon!
Don't compare Myanmar prices with other SE Asian country, here all the foreigners have to pay a lot for less services.

With very limited options in Monywa this place gets the job done, but I can't stay we enjoyed our stay. It's outrageously overpriced and the restaurant is as well. No wifi in rooms, and our room had a super noisy busted AC unit that kept us up at night. You can't walk to anything from here.

There are really only two choices for hotels in Monywa, and we ate lunch at the other option (Monywa Hotel) and that was clearly worse. This is nothing to write home about, but serves as a useful one-night stand between Mandalay and Bagan.

In fact, this would be a two-star review, as the breakfast is pretty dreadful, except that the grounds are spacious and the view over the lake is pretty. In any case, if you are touring around Monywa (which is highly recommended) you really have no other choice.

Room Tip: Book a lakeside bungalow as the view is quite nice.
