Sea Breeze Bungalows
Reviewed 11 January 2013

The family that runs the bungalows where very welcoming. The rooms where cleaned daily and we honestly felt that we where welcome; the beach is less than a stone throws from the bungalow and we both felt safe and well looked after

Eating breakfast looking out over the beach and ocean is worth the stay alone!!

A must stay location!

Oh as a note; be sure to look at the bungalow before you pay that way you can choose the one you prefer.

This is a cheap place to stay and is a good value for the money but we did not feel safe.

We woke up at 1:30am to the sound of our neighbors getting robbed. We heard somebody saying something along the lines of "give me your cash and valuables". A few minutes later we heard a suitcase rolling away.

We were freaked out and did not sleep well as a result. Next day I read the lonely planet guide and it warned of robbing incidents around the sea breeze area.

I have stayed at Sea Breeze Bungalows on Koh Samet a few times, and had a very different experience each time. The bungalows are generally rather cheap, although some are overpriced in the high season. There are basic bungalows for 300 baht per night, although they also offer air con rooms for 1000 baht. The air con rooms are not worth the price- there are much nicer rooms for the same price on the island. But if you are looking for somewhere cheap to stay, Sea Breeze is not a bad option. The rooms are generally comfortable and sometimes clean. Ask to see a newer room if possible, as the old ones can be very dirty and unkept. The rooms at the top of the hill are not good- very dusty and neglected. The room that I stayed in at the top of the hill was very dirty, the bathroom had no toilet seat, and the toilet was set right in the middle of the bathroom, making it very difficult to shower. Some of the older rooms do not have flush toilets installed yet. Not great. However I stayed in one of the new rooms a couple of times, and they were comfortable and much more clean. All in all, ask to see a couple of rooms before you decide on one! If you are looking for somewhere very cheap, this is the place for you!

I stayed in an apartment here and not in one of the old run down bungalows. The bungalow that I got shown first was very dated and in a good need of a facelift.

The apartment was 300B a night which is very cheap for its location. You get what you pay for ofcourse, so I only had a bed and a fan in the room.

If you want something cheap but basic this is the place for you!!!

Stayed in Sea Breeze during August 2011 for two nights. The bungalows are simple, clean but the interior is really outdated. Old Tom&Jerry curtains are just not so fancy anymore. We had a small leakage in the roof.

There is free WIFI at the reception and towels are free but you have to pay a deposit. Safety lockers (10 baht per time you open it) are also available. There are enough restaurants and bars in withing a 5 minute walk.

I would say it is value for money. We paid 300 baht per night for a room with a fan and no hot water.

What can you expect more from a 300b? Nice bed, a fan, enough space for shower (no hot water tho), clean toilet and it's only 10mins walk from the main beach. Has a lovely one-day visit to samet island, the gungalow is a nice place for stopover.

We were four girls staying in a cosy, quite big cabin. If you like it simple, it's the place for you. The cabins are 200 m from the beach. There is an internet cafe not far away, rent of ATV and motorbikes and food right next to.
We checked the prices almost everywhere else on this side of the island, but sea breeze bungalows were cheapest, and what we thought had the best value! I had a great time staying here!
