“A nice little break”
Reviewed 5 July 2014 via mobile

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights with our friends who are also a couple. We stayed in the sea view room and they had the garden view.
Our view was better but we couldn't really see much of the sea because of the trees and theirs wasn't much to see.
The rooms are very spacious, very clean and basic.
We had breakfast both mornings, there were 3options to choose from but we all got the American breakfast which was delicious.
There is a little pool where we had a little swim...
There was nothing to complain about with our stay, all the staff are super friendly. My boyfriend cut his foot from snorkelling, we asked one of the staff if they had anything to treat the wound and he ran and got the first aid box straight away. He sterilised the wound and dressed it in the most careful and delicate way.
Overall, this hotel was perfect for our short stay. No loud music like previous reviews mentioned....

So the plus is that the staff are friendly. However my repeated requests to have the room cleaned because of the ants were ignored. Ants are everywhere.

However this is not the real problem with the hotel. It is currently in some sort of dispute with it's neighbour, which has meant the neighbour has rigged speakers in the surrounding trees to blare out the song 'who let the dogs out? Woof, woof, woof woof.' it is played constantly on a repeat - I mean every minute of every hour of the five days I stayed here. It means you can't use the pool or go to the bar or sit outside your room without hearing the song. The staff would call the police but it didn't stop the problem. There was nothing to be done but put up with this aural torture for the duration of the stay and stay as far away from the hotel as possible only coming back to sleep.

Apart from that the rooms are big but far too basic for the price. Small shower and non existent view.

You have been warned avoid this hotel at all costs.

This resort is called Bar and Bed, Sleepless Society. As the name suggests the bar pumps out dreadful mainstream music for people who want to stuff their faces with substances and stay up all night. It is impossible to sleep here. I suppose in retaliation for spoiling this otherwise idyllic bay on a beautiful island the neighbors have decided to play 'who let the dogs out' full blast, on repeat, relentlessly all day long, beginning around 6am and right through dinner until eventually drowned out by the nightly din created by the bar itself. I can't imagine anything worse than spending any part of your holiday in this awful place.

With a large group of uni staff, we stayed 2 nights with breakfast. There's only one thing that needs to be improved -the pool water, murky and poor hygiene. We got kids with the group and they enjoyed swimming in the pool which was less dangerous than in the sea with urchins.

We recently stayed at the Bar and Bed "sleepless society". The room looked contemporary on the hotel website but I must say it is rustic in style, very simple and minimalist in decor.
From our point of view the core business is basically the Bar/Restaurant. We could hear the loud music until 2am from our room. We heard from a local that we were lucky during our stay because most of the time it ends in the early hours of the morning. Although we stayed during peak time the rate were way too expensive for what you get as the accommodation itself. I would say during peak season the rate should not exceed THB 2500 per room B&B basis and on low season THB 1000 per room, for Koh Samed I believe it is decent. Lot of ants in the room, specially in the shower room. On the good note the staff was helpful and friendly and the return transfer including ferry was included in the rate.

Great rooms with excellent bedding. Remote location, far from the bars and main beaches. Restaurant menu with half of the western dishes blanked out or out of stock; sponge kind chocolate lava; so called "Pink sauce" penne, Cocktails too sweet or too salted (too much salt icing the glasses). Nice clubbing and pool-bar at night though. Very basic buffet breakfast running out fast (no fruits, no fresh juice, no pastries, no cheese, no cereals...). Staff doing its best to serve the customers but failing. Lack of management. Overpriced.

Room Tip: Your room will not be cleaned unless you ask for it.

amazing! Staff could not have been more helpful or friendly!
The rooms were modern, clean and comfortable with a kettle, hairdryer, fridge and tv.
The pool was great as were the drinks and food all at a reasonable price.
The view from the pool and bar area was breathtaking and I would have happily stayed there for weeks.
So worth the money - my favourite place in thailand so far!
If you're searching for paradise this is it.
