having booked this hotel as part of a package holiday, i then checked the reviews. reading them i felt that i might have made a mistake. but when i got there, i found that the hotel was exactly what it is advertised as...a three star hotel. dont expect to get 4 or 5 star quality, as that is not what you are paying for, but as a three star, it is clean and comfortable, even if a little antiquated.

food was good and ample, apart from the salad buffet, which made use mainly of pre processed tinned goods. any fresh salad, vanished quickly and was not replaced.

betroom was spacious . and as for the comment about towels, well, as in most hotels nowadays, towels are not replaced daily, and there was a notice on wall about that policy.

it was possible to use the restaurant area after closing, for a drink or two.

the one reservation i have about the hotel, is the fact that there was no evidence of fire alarms, and there was no display on the room doors, of the projected escape route, in event of fire. i dont understand how this could comply with current laws.

but as i said, if you book here, you are paying for a three star hotel, and that is what you get. if you want 4/5 star quality, take out your wallet and go elsewhere.

Shabby rooms, unsavory food, careless unprofessional staff and, worst of all, outright rude and hostile management. The hotel has no lobby or any common area where one could gather with friends after dinner. The gathering room advertised on the website was locked during our whole stay, and the management refused to open it despite our requests, saying those were private premises and they could open them or keep them closed as they pleased. As we insisted, they threatened to call the police. Judging by what other reviewers have said, this seems to be their usual way of dealing with people who have the misfortune of staying at this miserable hotel. If you do not want your vacation to be ruined, avoid this place at all costs.

This is the worst hotel we ever stayed in Austria. Absolutely terrible room service. The staff does not change towels (never) in the bathroom. There is no bar in the hotel and the guest room is closed. So there is no place to meet up after skiing, not even in the canteen. The bar outside works till 8pm. There is no sauna. The staff is extremely rude and impolite. We have been appalled by the tone they speak to their guests when we just gently suggested that it is quite strange that the guest room is always closed. The staff said we could move out of the hotel. The furniture in the rooms (which are very small by the way) is old and rustic. The dinner is served for more than 40 minutes and you have to pay for bread. We were determined to leave and stay in another hotel but the first day the staff insisted that we paid in advance for the whole week and they refused to return our money. Our friends stayed in the hotel nearby which was only 20 euros more expensive and they were absolutely happy with everything. Salzburgerhof Hotel is not worth the money they are asking for it, even though it is quite close to skiing area.

Hotel was nice and clean, renovated a few years ago? Our room was spacious but cold, obviously no one had stayed in it recently. It took two days for the room to warm up. Staff was nonchalant and did the minimum. They answered when asked and that's it. Breakfast was ok and dinners, too. Location as such was fine, close to the railway station, yet not quite in the centre of the village.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not facing the near-by discotheques neonlights. They're on until 3 am. Had trouble in sleeping.

Our first impression was that it's not a Hotel, rather seems like a hostel. The front door of the room and the basin were broken. The most ridiculous thing was a paper sheet on the front door of the room (inside) - with this sentence :"Please dispote your empty bottles by yourself - otherwise we account €1 per bottle on your bill". It's a hotel or a hostel??? Where is the service? The first day we arrived at 8 pm - we got only cold plate in our room, but the housekeeper wasn't able to take out from the room during the 4 days we spent there. The hotel has a big restaurant, but we didn't understand, why we should share the table - during the berakfast and the dinner - with strangers. So we had to quarrel for 2 days, to get a separate table. We couldn't use our credit card under 30€, when we asked why, the boss was disgustingly rude and impolite and she begun to threat, that called the police if we don't go to the ATM. (We did). I don't understand this approach how someone can lead a Hotel with??? And the last thing - the car park was an uncomfortable far, unsecured and uncovered area, but they asked money for as well.
