We have stayed at this hotel many times over the last ten years. We always look forward with pleasure to our next visit. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. We love the food especially the fondues.
See you soon .

Great central location and we had some lovely evenings with live traditional music....not normally our sort of thing but good fun. Have stayed in the winter as well and both times food and service was great and friendly.

Just returned from a week long stay with my family and friends. Adults in mid 40's and kids ages ranging from 7 - 11 ( 4 adults and 4 kids ). We stayed in apartments that are situated ajacent to the main hotel building as they give you the option of a seperate bedroom for the kids. Worked perfectly and allowed us the comfort of putting the kids to bed sharp and then watching a little T.V. or reading for a while before settling down ourselves. Apartments are modern, can only be a couple of years old or at least since refurbed, clean and well appointed. We had a small kitchenette area comprising Wash basin, Twin ring hobtop and microwave...together with a kettle, coffee maker and fridge/freezer. Warm in all rooms and lovely patio doors opening onto small terrace. Additional pillows if you request them, duvets warm and cosy....appartment cleaned every day with fresh towels. 30 second walk to the main hotel entrance. Meals we had were fine...Evening dinner served mainly in a buffet style with a choice then of three main courses. So at breakfast you have a lovely choice of cold fayre - meats etc, cereals, youghurts, honey etc etc...also eggs, scrambled or boiled....croissants and breads, juices, tea, coffee..whilst at breakfast you are given the evening menu with your table number on it. There are 3 or 4 choices of main course for that evening on it and you mark how many of each one you want....dead easy. Evening dinner you have a lovely range of cold meats, cheeses, pasta, salad etc buffet style followed by a choice of two soups also buffet style. your main course is then served to you....choice of three desserts afterwards...kids had a seperate main course menu, with Spag bog, wienner schnitzel, pizza, beefburger or Chicken nuggets on it....it's the same each evening - no problem because if your kids are going to eat from this menu and not the main one trust me they won't deviate from the options on it anyway. Food was fine, hot and some of it was absolutely above the standard of this style hotel. The staff were courtious and helpful. One evening was a gala dinner with a set menu all the way through and they provided my wife with a lovely alternative main course without any fuss at all...some of the tables do have a bench style seat along one side which I and the kids had a great time manovering in and out of...Frankly some of the earlier critisim I read on the site is petty to say the least. Yes some of the buffet area is located by one of the dinning room entrances...not a problem as far as we were concerned. If you don't like the fact it's a set choice main course with the same buffet style entrees and desserts then pay extra and choose from the a la carte menu -simple ?! We sat at the same table, all 8 of us, all of the time - why wouldn't you ? If you are in a group, with a number of tables booked to your group, then alternate who you sit with - simple?! Lovely bars to the rear of the restaurant area where you can have a nice drink or in the summer outside terraces. Clearly there have been some improvements within the running of this hotel as I couldn't fault it and we thouroughly enjoyed our stay, wouldn't hesitate to return and probably will...and as a bonus the Kichberg skischool is loacted right up the top of the road running behind the hotel ( 5 minute walk ) - superb when you've got to get the kids and all their gear to ski classes after breakfast before you hit the slopes yourself.Idealy situated in the heart of a lovely town....

Except for not being able to sleep in the unairconditioned rooms during the heat wave of August (not Rosslvirt's fault), I was generally pleased with the hotel. What I was absolutely NOT pleased with was being barked at in the dining room by angry, stiff attendants for sitting in the "wrong seats" and coming to dinner too early. If I did stay here again, I'd eat somewhere else for every meal, as the food was average, and not worth the consistent, uncomfortable abuse in the dning room for every meal.

It's hard to know where to begin - this is a very poor hotel that has no place on a tour sold to Church groups (including the one I've just returned from). Tailored travel take note (poorly run Oberammergau tour to boot). In summary:
* Room allocation (due to overbooking) into a self catering part of the hotel in an apartment with people we didn't know (and we weren't the only ones)!
* Very poor food (variety terrible, and uncovered hence frequented by flies)
* Hotel dog allowed to roam freely in all areas of hotel.
* Had to ask for room to be cleaned.

I paid a great deal of money for the tour I've just been on - I fear my religious faith has been exploited (and I am one of 49 who feel the same).

Arrived here on 12th June for 6 nights before going to Oberammagau. I agree with everything said about the dining room. Daniella was like a dictator and talked to us like shool children. It was disgusting, we were paying guests. The dining room had not been designed properly, to have the buffet by the door into the dining room was the wrong place as people entering clashed with people queing for food. The bench seats were so difficult to get in and out. The dining room should have been bigger or else they should cut down on the amount of people they crammed in. If you were on the 7.30pm dinner the food had been left out since about 5pm with no covers, open to flies. It was not nice and could have been in covered dishes in a chiller display. It would not have been allowed in England. On the last night Daniella had the cheek to anounce that a basket was being passed around for gratuities. Since the staff were not friendly or helpful I did not feel like tipping. I do not recomend this hotel.

Like Roger M Evans, we were in a group of 54 en route to the Passion Play. We experienced all that he did, plus a show-down in the dining room when those in the bench seats went 'out of turn' to the salad bar, thinking it sensible to get their salads before getting trapped in the middle of the bench seats. The maitre d', Daniela, created a scene, calling for them to return immediately to their seats, after which we were all treated to a telling-off. I haven't been spoken to like that since I left infant school. The hotel seems to have forgotten that we paid quite a lot to be treated so shabbily. The tension was palpable after that. Everyone was relieved to leave. You have been warned.
