We could not stop taking photos from our balcony of the stunning mountains over the lake. Between the light and the reflection on the water the view seemed to change every moment. So my only complaint is that it can be hard to leave your balcony!!
We had a wonderful stay. The rooms are very comfortable, large with luxurious bathrooms - walk in shower but with a full spa downstairs a tub wasn't necessary. Extremely clean and well taken care of.
The staff is friendly and attentive, with many, fortunately for us, speaking English.
There is more of a language barrier here than we had found in some other places on our trip, but that is down to us, and we liked that it meant most guests are from Europe. The lake draws many visitors who are an easy drive away. We were more immersed here which was very nice.
The hiking trails from the lake and from a close bus ride away are beyond exquisite. It was as far up as we got on this trip and the mountain meadows among the peaks were breathtaking and unforgettable.
It was lovely to come back to the hotel's spa. The bath house is open to all guests with only therapeutic treatments costing extra. The indoor and outdoor pools and jacuzzi, we didn't use much. But in the jacuzzi area there is a quiet room with a row of waterbed lounges you can lay a towel on and melt - the true "zero gravity" furnishing! And that is before our favorite area with the sauna, steams and hot and cold dips. All were fantastic and the other patrons helped us figure out the dips we had not seen before. There was a glassed in sun room in which to relax between baths or sauna or to nap after. It was heaven. It was our first co-ed experience of this kind with only a towel draped here and there if anything - it would be hard to try and cover up even if you wanted while going in and out of the various temperature waters. My husband and I found this in itself to be very relaxing, adults of every age, shape and size, no one worrying about their 6 packs, only relaxing! Could this happen in the States where people are intimidated about going to a gym in fitted work out gear? Who knows, I was happier in this comfortable atmosphere. The hiking, the fresh air, the incredible beauty of the area and this spa left us feeling healthy and fantastic.
Also, hungry of course. We were on the half board plan, possibly all guest are?, and found the food choices and service to be excellent. Breakfasts offered just about everything we could imagine and more. Dinner was 4 course with a few choices in each, with nutritional needs happily accommodated. I can't remember feeling like more than a snack in between.
We particular liked the setting of the hotel in relation to the rest of Pertisau. It was a little farther down from the main dock than the other similar hotel I had looked at a few doors down, and the Post Hotel was that much more peaceful.
An excellent choice.
