If you're visiting Hoeilaart on a Sunday during lunchtime, the Nerocafé is pretty much the only option. That's why the restaurant is always full, and gets away with poor service and a kitchen without any imagination. The restaurant itself is located in an old tram station (built in 1894) near the lake downtown and looks and feels great. There are few dishes on the menu, and the wok and steak/frites are pretty much the highlights. Enjoy the nice atmosphere and the location, but bring good company and be prepared for terrible service and long waits: When we were there last, they were out of sparkling water, and got the wine a good 20 minutes after we got the food.
