“A great place to stay - especially with extended family”
Reviewed 21 January 2014

Brenton-on-sea chalets consist of two types - the simple units in a circular formation, and the two units which cater for larger families. We stayed in one of the larger units. There are two large units configured in the same way. Each house consists of a main house which sleeps six in three bedrooms, with two bathrooms, main-en-suite. The main bedroom is upstairs and has a beautiful sea view, with two armchairs and a table included in the large room. The other two rooms are average, with quite a lot of cupboard space all round.
The kitchen includes a dishwasher, although the units are serviced daily. The unit includes a lounge, TV, DSTV with most channels, a small dining room table, and a balcony with a Weber.
Alongside each main six-sleeper unit are two small two-sleeper units which have only a bedroom and bathroom, and have inter-leading (lockable) doors. This configuration allows extended family to stay in these units, where they can be private at night, but can be part of the larger family for mealtimes etc. This makes for each unit sleeping six, plus two additional on the one side and two additional people on the other making ten. If you don't use these units they can be sublet. We only used one sub unit, and we're never even aware of the goings on in the other sub unit, except for noticing there were people there.
There are two of these 6+2+2 configuration houses next to each other.
All units are a few hundred meters from the sea, although down (and back up) some quite steep steps. Older people may find them difficult to navigate.
The units are right above the swimming beach which has life guards.
We would go there again without hesitation.

Gorgeous beach nearby but some essential basics missing from self catering accommodation. especially in the kitchen where equipment is somewhat sparse and oven didn't work well. This was challenging when catering for family of 5 adults and 2 little ones.

Gorgeous cottages with beautiful views and wonderful staff!! The one bedroom chalets are lovely but do not have kitchens to speak of - so be prepared if you are staying for a long time. We were fine with this - perfect excuse not to cook! :o) Rediculously romantic - watched sunsets over the water, saw dolphins whilst lying at the plunge pool, fell asleep and woke up to the sound of the ocean. Loved it, loved it, loved it and will DEFINITELY be back!!!

This place was an unexpected beauty just outside of Kynsna. The views were breath taking and the community pool/braai area was perfect for our first few days in South Africa. The problems we encountered were strange ones however. The cottage slept six but only had the capacity to have two warm showers a day. And candles were provided incase of "black outs during busy season". Thankfully we planned ahead and got braai food and wine from the nearest shop which was about 10 minutes drive. The sea is a stone throw away and the sky is so clear at night the stars are a sight to be seen! Over all very good. Just be prepared.

We stayed here as a group of 4. The cottage itself was very neat and tidy with a big tv and decent sized rooms, also a decent sized television, lounge room and kitchen area.
There was a (Braai) just outside our cottage overlooking the beach which provided us with amazing sunset views and some great afternoons with wine and food.

The office itself is located at the bottom of the hill before the beach and you then drive up a steep slope to get to your cottage, it is such a beautiful drive and we were certaintly not dissapointed.
The beach is very big and is so relaxing.

We booked as a group of 4 into this venue and we were surprised by how it provided just about everything we wanted, including wonderful views. The rooms were big and had enough beds, the TV was confusing at first but once we got the hang of it, good value. Bathroom was small, but clean and adequate

Room Tip: We had 30, which was to the entrance of the facility and had a partial view slightly blocked by anot...
