Hello!

During our stay at the Belgian coast we booked that restaurant as all the other "wanted" restaurants were fully booked!
We were a little disappointed by the slow service. The waiter/server was the only person (but the cooks) and had to manage the orders, the service, the check-out, etc... He was doing his best but obviously could not coordinate everything smoothly. He also had a quite particular sense of humor. Not everybody would appreciate that! :)

The quality of the food was really good. The choice is not very big - quite limited... we only found it overpriced.

I would recommend this restaurant if you visit Damme.

Perhaps the best place to eat in Damme.

From start to finish, this was a meal to remember cooked with flair, precision and a love of the raw ingredients.

Amuse bouche including a chestnut puree, tartare, duck rillette, fig in balsamic vinegar were served within minutes of ordering.

My starter of scallops on risotto was cooked to perfection. Scallops seared on the outside and just warm in the centre.

The main of wild mushroom tagliatelle whose sauce was flavoured with tarragon and japanese vinegar was topped with fresh Atlantic tuna quickly pan fried to seal in the taste while remaining dark pink in the centre. A slice of duck liver pate finished off the dish.

Go now before Le Bonheur gains its first Michelin star and places become unavailable.

This restaurant is located in a quaint Belgian town of Damme. It sits just off to the side of the market square along the cobbled street. It is cosy and intimate and the menu is delicious. The wine selection is mostly european varieties and the serivce is friendly and discreet. If you are looking for something way from the crowds of the tourist beach area near Knokke, give this a go.
