De Panne is just in Belgium over the border from France (about 65km from Calais) and one of many restaurants near the northern end of the town's seafront. We chose it because looked well cared for and decorated, and was still busy with lunches at 2pm. It was a bit too cold to sit outside, but there are a lot of outside tables for when the weather is warmer.
The restaurant particularly specialises in seafood, with 'set' menus (5 or 6 choices per course) at different prices - we chose that at 28 Euros (2 courses) for lunch - we both had the crab croquets for starters, which perhaps had a little too much potato but were large. My wife said that her salmon was very good and I had 6 excellent, very large, prawns/ langoustines.
The staff were pleasant and helpful (English spoken by some but happy for you to try your French) and the service very good. The restaurant and toilets were spotless. We'll definitely go there again next time we pass that way.
