“A Wonderful Welcome, a fantastic time!”
Reviewed 19 August 2012

This year is the second time we have stayed at Huttenest. We first visited two years ago on route to Netherlands from Manchester. This year we stayed one night on our way to Austria and again on the way home. Isabelle and Patrick are wonderful hosts who go to a lot of trouble to make sure you are comfortable, happy and laughing! Patrick and Isabelle have a truly international welcoming style, speaking many languages between them. Patrick can tell jokes, keep you entertained, I counted on one occasion, in five different languages. Patrick’s humour is a perfect complement to the amazingly luscious breakfast that is provided each morning. A very wide selection of fruits, cereals, bread, cheeses, hams, yoghurts, juices, jams and spreads. The pancakes are hot and delicious and finish off a healthy breakfast with a great treat. The rooms are lovely: very clean, spacious and tastefully decorated both in the house and in the annex. There is a fridge, (stocked with a selection of beers, wines and soft drinks), a microwave and kettle. There are also sitting areas in the rooms to have a late supper or afternoon snack. The first time we stayed we took our bikes. There are plenty of excellent cycle routes nearby. Getting to and from the centre of Bruges was very easy. Isabelle is an excellent font of information and will provide maps, information both local and much further afield, timetables and suggestions on what to do. We were easily able to store our bikes at Huttenest either in a garage or in the garden depending on the weather. The grounds and gardens are really well maintained, relaxing and beautiful. There are deer and sheep in the fields adjacent to Huttenest, last time there were ostriches too. We are planning on visiting again in the next year or so, probably for a week as there are plenty of things to do nearby.
Thank you once again Isabelle and Patrick for a lovely, comfortable and relaxing stay.

Stayed here 2 nights. The room is superb, very large with excellent facilities - large TV, sitting area and large bathroom, and it is beautifully finished. Beautiful gardens and it is only 10 mins walk from the train ststion so you can leave your car at home and take the 8 min journey into the centre of Brugge ( costs only 4.20 euro return). The hosts, Patrick and Isabelle really make this place. Patrick is a very funny man and entertains during breakfast. Very highly recommended and great value at 85 euro - we paid almost as much for a much inferior budget hotel on our outward journey

We stayed in this wonderful place for three nights in early January. Remarkable was everything: the location of the hotel, our home, and most importantly, the owners of the hotel. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. They give a lot of information about the surrounding areas, restaurants and all that you want. Excellent breakfast, very abundant and delicious. The owner is very caring and checks every minute that you have coffee or tea, fried eggs offer. and brings freshly baked pancakes. We rented a loft and it was supper. We sat in the hot tub outdoors in very bad weather and it was great. Inside the loft was a sauna and infrared cabin and constantly burning gas fireplace. which made the atmosphere very cozy and comfortable. Prior to Brugge can be reached in 10 minutes, and the Netherlands for 15 minutes. The hotel has a paddock where ostriches are walking, deer and sheep - all this is a very decorated hotel, whose territory is contained in a clean and tidy and all felt the love the owners.

Isabelle could not do enough for us from the moment we arrived. Maps and information re restaurants, shops etc all provided on arrival. Patrick, the perfect host at breakfast in the morning and the breakfasts were superb! Location lovely with deer and emu's and so near to Bruges and Holland. Our room was great, beautifully clean and contained everything you could want. I would recommend 't Huttenest time and time again. Isabelle and Patrick have made sure that your stay here will be perfect!

From the moment we pulled up onto the grounds of this Bed and Breakfast, it was wonderful. We drove by their beautiful deer’s running in the field. The grounds of the property are very well maintained it was remarkable. Isabelle greeted us and gave us a lot of needed information about where to go and what to do, even made reservations to a restaurant for us. She showed us to our room and my husband and I jaws dropped they have put their heart and soul into their property. The hospitality was great, their food was extraordinary and the stay was heaven. Thank you so much Patrick and Isablle for a lovely stay and we will be back very soon...we are already planning our next stay this year there again!!!

Room Tip: Contact Isabelle or Patrick by email.
