“Lovely stay”
Reviewed 10 August 2014

My husband and I stayed two lovely nights at La Ferme. The property is gorgeous, surrounded by acres of farmland, and farm animals. The highlight for us was Odile herself. She is cheerful, charming, and beyond generous. Her breakfasts were bountiful (omelets with eggs right from the farm), and a table full of cheese, bread, pastries, yogurt, etc. Even during other times, Odile would thoughtfully offer snacks and anything she thought we might like to try. Odile took us on a walk to visit and to feed the animals, which was charming as well.
Our room was the Rose room. I wouldn't call the room elegant or fancy, so if you seek an elegant environment, it is not La Ferme. But it is rustic and comfortable, beautiful, warm and friendly.

Our family of 5 (3 kids 12,10, 8, and 2 adults) booked 2 rooms at La Ferme du Pressoir located in Villers Bocage. We had 2 spacious rooms, access to a small kitchen and dining room and TV to follow the Coupe du Monde. After a delicious and varied breakfast with eggs that the kids had collected the night before we would set off to discover the WWII sites, the castles nearby (we highly recommend Falaise and Vendeuvre), and we were 1hr from Mont St-Michel. The farm was built in 1781, it is beautiful, there are tables outside, la big area to play, raspberries to pick. A calm haven to come back to after a busy day. Odile was so welcoming, easy going, and she thinks of every details to make her guests happy (she got me some wholegrain bread for breakfast after noticing that I bought some!). The rooms were quiet, comfortable, and clean. We loved it, and after 5 days we were a little sad to say goodbye. Merci Odile!

Room Tip: We stayed in the main house - the blue room had 3 beds (2 double and one single) that the kids staye...

Stayed with a family of four, two kids. Although there was a mix up with our room, Odile took the best care of us the whole trip. She was so friendly and kind and the farm itself was beautiful. The rooms were comfortable, bright, and clean and our daughters each got their own bed in a lovely suite. Breakfast was great-so much fresh food available! We will definitely recommend this B&B to our friends and will be back in the future. Thanks Odile!

We stayed at La Ferme du Pressoir in late May while visiting the Normandy area, D-Day beaches. This is about 20 minutes away from Bayeux and we thought it was worth the drive. First of all, Odile is completely charming. Her English is limited (our French even more limited), but she was so kind and amenable that it wasn't a barrier in any way. We stayed in one of the rooms in the gite, which was lovely, clean and comfortable. Comfortable beds. The grounds were beautiful and peaceful. See all the sites of Normandy and come back here to forget that you are a "tourist."

I chose this because of the great reviews and its great location. It is perfectly situated if you want to tour the Normandy D-Day beaches, Bayeaux, Rouen, and Mont St. Michel. We drove in from Caen and had no trouble finding it. Odile gives great directions on her website and the roads are very easy to navigate. The farm is located in the quiet hamlet of Le Haut St Louet just outside of Villers Bocage. It is very charming and Odile is such a wonderful host. I can't say enough nice things about her. She made us feel very welcome even when we arrived much earlier than the normal check-in time. She gave us pastries and coffee and hot chocolate and had our room ready in no time. She understands more English than she can speak so we didn't have much trouble communicating. I tried to speak some French to her and I could tell that she appreciated that. Breakfasts were beyond amazing. There were wonderful pastries, local cheeses, cereal, omelets, fruits and yogurt. She lets you pack the leftovers to eat later too. You won't go hungry here!! She also has lots of brochures and suggestions of places to visit in the area. I suggest driving the Suisse Normandie route which is close by and is a gorgeous scenic drive. My husband and I plan to go back to Normandie soon and we will definitely stay with Odile again!

This is the place to stay in Normandy. Convenient to all sites and with all the comforts of home - the proprietor Odille's home but she'll make you feel so welcome you'll feel like a member of the family. Large well appointed rooms, modern bathrooms, and the charm of a real French country farm house. Because, that is what it is. Did I mention the breakfast? Really a feast in the morning with flexible serving hours. If anything is left on the table, you are encouraged to take it with you while seeing the sites. The cost is but €80 per night not per person, but per room. Our room could have easily slept 4. This is a wonderful place to stay. You'll feel right at home in France!

From the moment we arrived until our departure 4 days later, La Ferme was the perfect place for our home base in Normandie. Odile was the perfect hostess and a great historian of this beautiful farm. Our room (La Chambre Rose) was beautiful, with a great view of the property. The breakfasts and sack lunches were hearty and kept us full all day. Several evenings we cooked our own dinners in the small kitchen. It was hard to leave this lovely spot. We'll definitely be back!
