Our two nights at La Ferme du Pressoir in Normandy were absolutely wonderful. On arrival we were greeted with snacks and a bottle of hard cider (cidre) made on the farm from their own apples. That evening our hostess, Odile, took us around to collect eggs for the next day's omelettes, and to meet the goats, ducks, horses and cows. Odile is a delight, the setting is storybook French countryside, our room was cozy, and the breakfasts were phenomenal. As others have noted, those breakfasts include the aforementioned omelettes, as well as bread, pastries, charcuterie, yogurt, cheese, local apple juice, delicious coffee, and much more. In fact, after breakfast Odile encouraged us to pack up the leftovers to take along as a picnic lunch, which we happily did (we still couldn't come close to finishing everything!) We stayed at La Ferme with our two teen aged kids and happened to have the entire gîte (cottage) to ourselves. The four of us shared the Chambre Coquelicot and found it to be ample space for all of us; the view out over the farm (look, kids, cows!) was lovely. Although it is a bit off the beaten path we had no difficulty finding the B&B, and it made a great base for exploring Normandy and nearby parts of Brittany. Do note that Odile speaks almost no English (although it seems she understands at least a little), so it helps if you have a bit of French. Nevertheless, Odile is so kind, patient and good-humored that even if you are a confirmed monoglot, you will still have a great visit. Finally, be aware that restaurant dining options nearby are limited. Consider picking up some prepared items on your way to the B&B and having dinner in (the kitchenette in the gîte includes a dishwasher, cooktop, microwave, fridge and oven).
By all means, if your travels will take you to Normandy, stay at La Ferme du Pressoir.
