Last August my then girlfriend and I stayed here whilst on a motorcycling holiday and I proposed marriage. This year we came back with our kids following our wedding. there are many lovely places to stay in the Schwarzwald and this is one of them. The Lauble family have been here for over 50 years and one can see why, they love the place, take fabulous care of their guests and continue to make improvements in the facilities year on year.

The family room we stayed in was superb, own bedroom for us and the kids were very excited by their single beds in the loft. The added bonus there being we could sit in the lounge or on the balcony after they had gone to bed without disturbing them. The family bathroom with walk in shower, double sink and full size bath is top quality and everything is cleaned to a high standard daily. Also has wi-fi for those who need to stay connected.

The breakfast buffet is fresh, local and plentiful with cereals, fruit, yoghurt, lovely breads, meats and cheeses, so good in fact that our kids could hardly manage lunch after their 4 course brekkie! There are plenty of places around and about to eat but the evening menu is so good that we ate in the hotel every night and didn't have the same thing twice. Again the food is varied, beautifully prepared and portions are ample. The vegetarian choices are excellent too much to the relief of my wife.

The location of the hotel a the top of the valley nestled in a meadow is a joy and many local attractions are in easy reach. Also worth mentioning that this hotel welcomes bikers with open arms and an open garage where the bikes can be kept shut away over night.

We are already planning our return next year and would happily lay bets that anyone staying here will be delighted with every aspect of their stay.

A lovely family run hotel which we used on both our outward and inward journeys to Austria. We have enjoyed a variety of rooms during recent years - each has been very clean and well appointed, the choice obviously dependant upon the hotels popular demand. Determined one year to stay for more than just a night's stopover to explore the surrounding countryside.
As always the family were very welcoming and dinner on the verandah to the front of the hotel was as delicious as ever! A large starter, very tasty fish dish and numerous local weissbeers and glasses of wine at a very acceptable price!
The only English couple this year but other guests included Spanish and Italians along with many locals, like us visiting for a delightful evening dinner.
Well worth a stay whether on holiday in the area or en-route to farther flung places.

Situated on the boundary of the old states of Baden and Wurttemberg, this elevated hotel is well situated for some lovely country walks. The hotel itself is perhaps just a little dated (fittings and furnishings from the '80s in our room) it was nevertheless an extremely clean and welcoming country hotel. The buffet breakfast was quite good. The restaurant where we had dinner was excellent with game dishes especially tasty and with a good wine list at fair prices, although most people seemed to be drinking local beer (also good). This part of the Black Forest is relatively unknown touristically so was worth a visit.
