Made the mistake of driving into Rosenheim during Oktoberfest without booking ahead. The staff at the first hotel quickly informed me that it would be hopeless to look around town. So we started calling "backwards" every hotel towards Innsbruck where we came from. Wilder Kaiser has one room available, so we jumped into our rental Golf and pushed ahead for about 30km with 200km/h.
The location is convenient, the room in the annex rather small and a bit plain. Alas, beggars were not choosers -- we were happy to not sleep in the car. We were redeemed with a great breakfast.
I would stay again in a pinch or as a stopover on a longer trip.
