I stayed overnight here on a trip from Cologne to Munich with my parents in September. The town, which can be walked easily in an hour, was a great quiet place to spend the night. Next to Würzburg (a short car ride away), and in the heart of German wine country. The hotel is directly on the main strip, a smaller road which leads to Würzburg.
The Guesthouse was clean (spotless rather) and practical, though nothing fancy. The walls were a bit thin (I could faintly hear a couple having some fun at around 11pm), but other than that, I have no complaints. The bed was comfortable (I stayed in a single room, my parents in a double). The price of the rooms, also reasonable given a higher rate of tourists travelling in Bavaria due to Oktoberfest. Lastly, the included breakfast was GREAT! Everything you expect from a yummy German breakfast (fresh buns -- brötchen in German, meats, cheeses, jams, butter, fruits, and a hard-boiled egg). Great :)
One important thing to note: the hosts speak only German. No problem for us since I speak German, but could be an issue for non-German guests.
The restaurant was great! Traditional wholesome, home-cooked meals at a reasonable price (much better than you'll find in touristy Würzburg). We were three, each had large meals and desert, bottled water, and 2 bottles of local wine for 95 euros total.More
