“2 stars is being generous...”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 August 2012

My husband and I travel the world pretty often and have never had issues with hotel management.
Let me start by saying that I give credit where it is due.

The hotel grounds are very nice and well kept. Convenient, clean, small private beach on property.

A five star hotel has welcoming and great management... ASTIR OF PAROS IS NOT A FIVE STAR HOTEL on by any standards, including room quality.

We got to our hotel room and our tv was not working, not a big deal, called reception and asked them to fix it. After numerous phone calls back and forth with the receptionist and owner of the hotel, they made it seem as if we inconvenienced them and their attitude was disgusting.
I told the receptionist that considering we are spending 260 euro a night we expected them to be more helpful holding a better attitude... her response? She laughed at me and said that there are more people spending more money than us........... who talks to their customers like this?

Considering the economic situation in Greece, you would think they understood the quality of money... I wanted to ask her how much she made working there.... but I did not take it to a personal level. Clearly, I have standards.

People go on vacation and stay at hotels, with hopes of feeling welcomed and comfortable. Astir of Paros lacked to produce this, and on top of it, insult their customers.

SOME OTHER ISSUES:
~Their rooms are outdated
~their blow dryers become so over heated that they blow out smoke and you can not bear to hold them...

I will give 2 star for decent breakfast and the staff during breakfast were nice, also a great chinese restaurant on site.

I do not recommend staying here, there is a wonderful hotel right next door SAINT ANDREA. We tried to get a room there after the issue we had with Astir of Paros, but they were booked.

THIS HOTEL IS NOT WORTH ANYONES MONEY.
TRY SAINT ANDREA!!!!
Good luck on your vacations :)

Dear guest,
Upon your arrival you realized that the TV chanels were not working clearly, despite the fact that the previous clients had left the same room on that morning after a 21 days stay without any problem.
Further to your compaint our maintenance tecknitian checked it and reported that the chanels were out of tune and we had to call the specialist to re-arrange the chanels and check the antenna.
Meanwhile we suggested and showed you alternative upgraded suites for you to change, so you do not lose precious time from your holidays. Your decision was to remain at the same suite.
We offered to take over the moving part to another suite but your only concern was a refund, not to mention that you already had a 20% discount..
When the specialist arrived you did not allow him to enter on the spot, but you had him waiting for over 40 minutes!
We feel that we always do our best to have all our clients happy and satisfied and the staffs' attitude has the best recommendations and comments in our guest book.
In conclusion, we suggest that this is not the best way to avertise another hotel (through our page)!

Upon arriving at the Astir, I was very impressed with the grounds: golf, tennis, pool and even a Church along beach. The reception girls and staff are very sweet. Love them! The room itself was clean but very basic. No frills. For $250 a night, I would have expected a suite! But a nice and relaxing hotel. A cab to the hotel is 10 Euros/person from the port with the hotel shuttle. A ride with hotel shuttle to Noussa (the closest city with restaurants/bars) is 2.50 Euros/per person or 6 Euro cab. This can really add up daily. Something to think about. I was under the impression that the hotel had a free shuttle service but there is a charge every where. Breakfast is European style:eggs, cold cuts and fruit. I would recommend this hotel if money isn't tight. Again there is always a charge to use hotel shuttle, a charge to use tennis courts and hotel restaurant is over priced. But very pretty and serene.

Paros in itself is one of the most romantic and picturesque islands of Greece. To enhance this, the Astir of Paros complements the islands atmosphere by offering unique luxurious accommodation against an artistic tropical backdrop emphasising Greek Culture. The lavishly Green gardens with carefully selected plantation make for a pleasant walk while the pool area overlooking the sea and beach area through historically created arches allow for ultimate relaxation and visual splendour.

The staff was impeccably courteous, helpful and friendly throughout our whole stay and throughout the whole hotel. An additional bravo must e given to the evening pool barman “Costa” for his enlightening tails and entertaining philosophies while serving a variety of infamous cocktails around the pool bar which is surrounded by palm trees with tasteful night lighting reflecting across the sea and gardens of the Hotel.

The restaurant has a variety of choices to please every pallet for lunch snacks and evening meals. Steaks of surpass quality cooked to perfection and even chicken with “chakalaka” sauce for all those South Africans who can relate.

The buildings and gardens are spotless and extremely well kept evident of the management and staffs’ devotion to up-keep the hotel standards.

Overall an extra-ordinary experience that one wishes to repeat!

Room Tip: Try for a sea facing room on the upper floors. Although the lavish gardens render all rooms pleasant...

As always a wonderful time with wonderful people, first class service in this amazing resort. Excellent location. Staff extremely well mannered and friendly, only too happy to help. The Chinese restaurant is exquisite and from what we've heard one of the best in Greece. We were seeping some of the most exotic coctails under the stars near the crystal waters of the pool. Everything was like a dream that we want to dream again and again.

My husband and I had another outstanding experience this summer at Astir of Paros. The first thing that strikes you other than the natural beauty of your surroundings is the hospitality of the staff. Amazingly each individual there from the owners to the servers to the reception to the gardeners seemed genuinely pleased to have you there as your guest. We were particularly impressed with Irene in reception – she is such an asset to the hotel – and makes sure that your visit is perfect!
The property is simply gorgeous and you are just hypnotized by the beauty of the colors. You could just spend the day at the pool (absolutely breath taking surrounded by beautiful palm trees) overlooking the Aegean Sea. The days just fly by and it’s hard to force yourself to leave the hotel. The food at the hotel is marvelous: very fresh, beautifully prepared and served by wonderful staff. The owners are very hands on and ensure that they serve the very best. However, if you want to do something different, going into the nearby village of Naoussa is an excellent option to sample some of the food at the local tavernas.
The hotel is spotless and the maids do an excellent job of cleaning. Towel service is done twice daily so that fresh towels are always available. The only problem is that you never want to leave. We have been there many times and have always found the highest standards in making you feel like such a special guest! We see this same attitude toward newcomers too. We take home such wonderful memories that get us through the cold winter months.
