“Understated elegance and a perfect holiday”
Reviewed 22 August 2014

Clea and Sotiris have created a little slice of Paros heaven.
The rooms at first glance seem very simple until you notice the lovely furniture and decorative touches and crisp linen and little organic toiletries. The view is superb, the pool surrounds very chic and comfortable.
Breakfast is a daily treat and the small but interesting menu at the pool side restaurant is delicious if you can't face leaving the pool at lunchtime. We tried the dish of the day each day and were delighted with the light interesting authentic Greek home cooking. The. Hotel provides a friendly and easy shuttle to the local town nauossa for evenings meals. Highly recommend Axinos (pesto prawn risotto outstanding as was fig and rocket salad) and mediteranneo on the waterfront. Give cafe romantics a miss unless you like greasy salty food served without flair and only a tiny bit cheaper than Axinos.
We were travelling with our family of 5 two teens and a 6 year old. Hotel pool was a quieter scene and luckily our kids very happy to relax with swims and books and sunbathing. Wouldn't recommend for a noisier group or those looking for nightlife at their hotel but for those wanting superb Greek hospitality , clean comfortable and chic accommodation on one of the prettiest Greek Islands then this is the hotel for you. Cannot wait to return. !!!!!!

Room Tip: Top floor rooms have superb views, lower floors easy access to pool and restaurant. Tennis court and...

Very unhappy with hotel. No amenities. No one even answers when call desk. Shower like on a small sailboat. Owners nice but strict. Ordered car for stay. Owner had car delivered upon 8:00 PM arrival which was useless, car picked up am departure day. Charged for three days. Only had use for two.
Very noisy if on ground floor from guests on second floor.

Having stayed in Naoussa before and visited Petres, we were determined this visit to the Greek Isles we would stay at Petres to end our holiday. We were not disappointed, the view from our ground floor room's large balcony over the fields with cows out towards the sea was superb and we enjoyed an drinks of an evening there lounging on the comfy cushions with the vista - our shoulders down, fully relaxed after lounging by the pool towards the end of the day - just lovely. Attention to detail is key at Petres and everywhere there are beautiful things, a bowl and water jug on a dresser and chairs to each side on the landing outside our rooms, a marble-topped dresser in our room - everything chosen with care and an eye for the beautiful - Clea to thank for this together with the wonderful food at breakfast and atmosphere of Petres. Sotiris is wonderful in that he is available to collect, transport to and from, and we felt nothing much would phase him and that he enjoyed what he did - good to hear the tennis balls crossing the court early and late in the day when not too hot - an extra bonus for those who play and a passion for Sotiris.

We loved our time in Paros and at Petres. We hired a bike for a couple of days and then a car for the rest of our stay and visited most of the Island - the small villages so beautifully kept and a joy to wander, the beaches superb with crystal turquoise waters and the tavernas where many a grilled sardine, zucchini fritter, aubergine pie and Greek salad washed down with a cold beer were consumed. Time went by so pleasantly and so fast. Dined at Yemeni (in the lanes) again several times and great food there together with meeting and chatting with other diners. Taverna Glafkos also had excellent seafood - by the sea at the little Venice area.

Thank you Clea, Sotiris and your wonderful staff for your hospitality and care during our stay - it was a pleasure for us. Congratulations on Petres' 20th anniversary and it was apt that we chose to spend our 20th anniversary with you at Petres. Au revoir from the Kiwis.

Room Tip: Any of the rooms views from all.

Last April we went back to Paros. It was going to be a very special trip for us as we were bringing along our 4 years old son, conceived in Greece, to see with his own little eyes the wonders of the place we have been telling him about since he was born. We were very excited about the trip but a little bit scared that it would have changed or maybe that it wouldn’t be as wonderful as it was five years ago.

From the minute we first saw Sotiris waiting for us at the port, we knew it was going to be a very special holiday! I can’t describe how was it like to come back to Paros and find Petres even more beautiful than five years ago! Cléa and Sotiris are constantly improving it and making sure their little “gem” is becoming more and more precious every year! They both received us with such kindness and affection that we really felt like we were visiting family!

The garden is wonderful and the swimming pool looks beautiful and very refreshing (although it was still cold in April, I couldn’t resist and had to swim one day). The room they had prepared for us was spotless and the decoration, a little bit different from how I remembered it, is classic and neutral. They have renovated everything so the rooms are new, comfortable and very elegant. High quality sheets, towels and bed covers, new appliances, excellent taste furniture. And the view… What can I say about it? Every morning I rushed to open the balcony door in our room, took a deep breath, and tried to keep in my heart forever the most beautiful view I ever saw!

Breakfast at Petres is something you have to try for yourself. Each day you will find something delicious prepared by Cléa, with exclusive recipes, exquisite flavors and very special ingredients that she chooses and buys herself, from local suppliers and stores. You haven’t tasted greek yoghurt and honey until you do it at Petres. Believe me!

Naoussa is still an amazing place. Magical perhaps. You will want to take a photo at every corner, eat at every restaurant (they are all great) and drink some “frappé” at every bar you see. This time we spent hours and hours in the local playground and the city proved itself to be very kid friendly as the streets were calm, the food was very suitable for children,” gelato” was everywhere and Greek people are constantly so nice to children!

Parikia is not to be missed too! This time we explored the narrow streets, the harbor, stores and cafés in Market Street and it was fantastic! Not to mention the beaches and other small villages you must visit! Lefkes is wonderful and you must experience the picturesque roads (we rented a car this time): driving in Paros is easy and such a fun thing to do!

I really hope we’ll be able to come back to Paros many times and, of course, we will stay at Petres over and over again! There’s something about Paros… I can’t quite explain it…! I think Cléa and Sotiris agree with me as they are beautifully living their dream in Petres and so generously giving people the opportunity to do the same! They're sharing their own paradise!

I return at Petres for 15 years and it is always a fantastic and so relaxing experience. Once you get to this 16 rooms boutique hotel you forget all worries and stress go away very quickly. In addition to the most beautiful architecture of the place, the service provided by the owners, Clea and Sotiris, and the staff is really outstanding. I travel a lot and I can confirm that Petres is a really unique place on earth! It deserves for sure it's number one place in Naoussa but also in Greece if we talk about what you get for what you pay. In addition for being such a lovely place, Petres is located in a really beautiful island which is still very authentic without being completely isolated. You can find in Paros everything you need, from desert beaches to more fancy onces, bars for going out if you like of enjoying a quieter diner in villages like Drios, Pisso Livadi, Lefkes, etc…

I am sure I lll go to Petres again and again and again…Thank you Clea and Sotiris for offering us such a wonderful holiday time!

Just as great as everyone says-we fully confirm. It was a truly lovely time for me and my partner. A bit of a French-focus but that's Greece in July. Clearly many of the guests had been there before and this indicated something special.

A lovely welcome with intelligent conversation and advice throughout the stay.
