“Not quite what we expected”
Reviewed 8 July 2014 via mobile

Rooms are very spacious and our balcony look towards Kronos beach. The walk to the beach and the water taxi was a fair distance and steep incline. The shuttle service was a pretty old van. We found the food of good quality however there was a few flies buzzing around. The pool closed too early 8pm yet pics of the website showed lights on in the evening which looked magnificent on the web but not in real life . The shower was in the bath and the screen sucked as it was like a constantina type and a little tight for space and water always flooded the floor. TV and furniture is very outdated. We opted to hire a scooter which was 30 euros per day. The shuttle service was limited and its about a 10 minute trip into town. Paros in itself is a lovely island but we recommend a scooter or similar to get around. There is a beautiful beach on the other side of the island about 35 minutes called golden beach. That was absolutely beautiful. All in all we enjoyed Agnanti hotel though I would rate it more like 3 1/2 - 4 star.

Hotel is a bit out of the way. You would need to rent a scooter, ATV, or car to get around the island. They do have a shuttle but for the cost to rent a ATV or scooter and be on your own time it is worth it! The hotel can easily arrange this for you. We requested a modern room and were not disappointed. I had read reviews and was nervous of the rooms but we were not disappointed. We loved the island and would visit again.

This year marked our 3rd summer in a row visiting Paros and staying at Paros Agnanti.
We used to get nervous when planning to go back to Paros with concerns that the experience will not live up to the summer prior. The reality is that with each visit to Paros Agnanti we have had a great and memorable experience and that is why we now consider the Paros Agnanti hotel our Home Away From Home.

The Staff are very friendly and attentive to your requests and strive to make your stay one of the best. Zeta at the front desk will go out of her way with a smile to ensure everything is right.

The Restaurant offered a great selection of options at affordable prices comparable to what you would pay if you went into the town of Parikia. We would order lunch and have it delivered to the pool somedays; the Chicken Club Sandwich is one of our favourites. If you are planning to have dinner at the hotel, I would recommend making a reservation to get a nice table outside as some nights can be busy.

The Pool for the most part was pretty quiet with not too many people, making it the perfect place to layout under the sun (or under a shade umbrella) and relax. The parts of the day that we weren't ATV-ing around the island, we would spend it in and around the pool. If you prefer, there is a clean beach across the road with cafes.

We have stayed in both traditional and modern designed rooms. We found the traditional rooms offered more space, while the modern rooms were newly updated. However regardless of design, they both were comfortable, clean, and offer great views.

Without a doubt we would recommend others to stay at Paros Agnanti. Over the past 3 years of staying at this hotel we have met many people, and are happy to say we would consider some of these people family.

Year after year we have been welcomed to this hotel with open arms, and enjoyed our stay that we are currently planning to host our wedding here next year, so we can share the warmth and the greatness of both the island of Paros and the Paros Agnanti hotel with our friends and family.

Room Tip: Look at the pictures on the website. They offer Traditional and Modern Designed rooms; if you have a...

The staff are amazing!! The location is okay, beach is small and there isn't much nite life to speak of in Paros and this hotel requires you to take a shuttle to get to town and back. Thank you for choosing Paros Agnanti Hotel Holiday Resort and Conference as your ideal destination and the time you spent to write your review.

We deeply appreciate your good comments about the staff, the food and the hotel’s decoration!

Regarding your claim that the room you had during your stay in the hotel was not so nice as those rooms you saw on the hotel’s website, we would like to mention the following:
On the same website, in the chapter “Accommodation”, apart from pictures there is a detailed presentation about the room style, modern or classic, according to the room type (Double Standard, Double Superior, Junior Suite, Superior Family, Deluxe Suite) so as our guests be informed about.
For your help, I rewrite the exact text, only a small one, from the hotel’s website: “Paros Agnanti Hotel Holiday Resort and Conference has a total of 45 rooms and suites, all with magnificent sea view, each of which is distinguished by its own unique style, either with classic or modern design, elegant decor and luxurious fabrics, which reveal a 4 star hotel”.
As you had visited before your arrival the hotel’s website (but, unfortunately, you just saw some, not all the available photos), we really sorry you did not make in advance a request to your travel agent representative or to the reservation department of the hotel asking for a room with the deco characteristics you prefer.

Hoping to come back in Paros Agnanti Resort in the near future,

Paros is an absolutely delightful island to visit. We stayed for three nights but could have stayed much longer. The island is easy to navigate by public bus, taxi, or hire car. A hire car enables you to get off the beaten track and visit some lovely beaches surrounding the coast. The whole island can be travelled easily in a day. Unfortunately where we stayed at the Paros Agnanti Resort has both positives and negatives. The views from the upper level rooms are amazing overlooking the beach and bay. Accommodation is clean and we even had a iron in our room and a lovely balcony. Staff are generally friendly and helpful. The pool area is fantastic. On the negative side however was the fact that the hotel is located quite a distance from the town centre of Parikia and requires either a taxi ( 7 euros each way) or a 35 minute walk along a rough coastal track. The hotel shuttle bus only operates 3 times a day with the last service back to the hotel at 10.15pm, not particularly accommodating if you prefer to stay out a bit later in the evening. First impressions were also affected by the fact that it took us an hour and a half to check in and get our baggage. After travelling for some time and being hot and tired this seemed quite unreasonable and excessive. Our bed was possibly one of the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on with an extremely hard mattress. I generally prefer a firm bed but this was ridiculous. Overall next time I think we would prefer to stay a little closer to the centre of town within walking distance to the restaurants and attractions.

Dear our guest,

Greetings from Paros!

Thank you for choosing Paros Agnanti Hotel Holiday Resort and Conference as your ideal destination and for the time you spent to write your review.

We deeply appreciate your good comments about the accommodation, the staff and the surroundings of the hotel but we would like to pay attention to our clarifications regarding your negative comments:
Firstly, the check out time is at 12:00 which means that if you arrive at 10:30 is absolutely logical to wait until the guests make check out and the housekeeper prepare the room so as to be clean and tidy after your check in.
Secondly, as we have realised that many guests dislike soft mattresses we have two different types in mattresses so as to satisfy all our guests. If you had expressed your complain to the helpful receptionists they would have arranged the matter immediately.
Moreover, please be so kind to note that it is mentioned on the hotel’s website that Paros Agnanti Resort is located 2.5km away from Parikia. Because of the sort distance from the down town and the port, Paros Agnanti Resort is the ideal destination for those who wish to combine the discreet seclusion with the cosmopolitan life during their holiday. Moreover, is the one and only 4* Resort in a flower-filled surface of 35acres closely to Parikia and 80m away from the most famous beaches, Krios and Marcello.
Last but not least, I would like to remind you that from Marcello beach you can also visit Parikia by water taxi, every half an hour, which our guests find very enjoyable and convenient.

Hoping to have the opportunity to accommodate you again in the near future,

We stayed at this hotel for two nights and I would have enjoyed staying longer. The resort is lovely. It has a beach nearby, a lovely swimming pool, a very helpful staff, and views that delight. We enjoyed it very much, but your experience may depend on the room that you get. As we travelled with other people we got to see that rooms varied in modernity and personality, an eclectic feel that we enjoy. Most of the folks we travelled with loved their stay at the Agnanti. Your satisfaction may depend on the match between you and the room you get. We stayed in Room 23, which is on the ground floor, with double doors that opened onto patio overlooking the sea in the distance. A lovely view! Outside there was a table and 2 chairs where we could relax and have a drink, write postcards, or read email. Most rooms seemed to have a patio or balcony with a view. Our bedroom also had a small spiral staircase that lead to a loft area with a second bed, which would be useful if you had a child or two who are not too young to deal with the stairs. The bed double bed was very comfortable, with excellent linens. The bathroom sink was in our bedroom, which seemed odd at first, but it turned out to be fine. The bathroom was renovated and concrete, with a nice rain shower (no bathtub), a toilet, and a sloping ceiling. Not very big, but perfectly functional. The bedroom had a modern feel (again, concrete bed and side tables)… a clear ghost chair and slim console table with mirror. There were good sized built in closets in the room, as well as a flat screen TV, a mini-fridge, hair dryer, iron and ironing board and A/C. They do have a laundry service which is expensive, but reasonable by typical hotel standards (15 euros a bagful). Breakfast is served outside on the large covered patio of the main building (or inside, if you prefer). It is a charming way to start your day, with views of the sea, gardens, and a little church or two. The buffet breakfast was good. The resort has a "happy hour" in the late afternoon. The town nearby (Parikia) is adorable… a vacation haven for sure, with sweet shops and restaurants/bars dotted about and loads of charm to spare. A very picturesque village, with something for everyone. The only potential drawback of the Paros Agnanti Resort is that you have to find a way to get into town as it is not a walkable distance. You can call a taxi (about 7 to 10 Euros, depending on the time of day and your negotiating skills) and return by taxi as well (there is a taxi stand in the center of town). Some of our fellow travelers got stuck in town around 2 o'clock in the morning, so make sure you find out when the taxi service stops. We found the distance from town restful and didn't see it as much of a drawback at all. The level of service provided at the hotel was excellent. They are clearly striving to make this a welcoming, relaxing respite, and they succeed.

Room Tip: I think I'd prefer a room above ground level for a bit more privacy.
