“A garden worthy of Aphrodite, with a mere mortal price-tag..!”
Reviewed 15 June 2011

The Pension Sofia was a wonderful accommodation experience. The garden setting is very beautiful (olive trees, green lawns, places to sit; to eat; to drink coffee or tea in the morning). My room was so nice, with a fab little balcony and a view to peaceful Parikia harbour, including the sunset if you like. The room was sunny and colourful. Bathroom was totally fine and the bed very comfortable. The ground level rooms don't get the sea view, but they have little courtyards on to the garden. Your hosts - Sofia and Manolis - are a complete delight and extremely helpful, they will pick you up from the port and the coffee is great..! The room rate was excellent. I paid 40 euros per night, some of the best value for money I have experienced for anywhere in the Greek Islands.

On a quiet back street in the village of Parikia, the Pension Sofia offers small, quiet rooms, and beautiful gardens within walking distance of the old village. An unexpected treat was to be met at the ferry by the owner who then drove us directly to the pension. The accommodations are basic, but everything you need is there. It's not plush, but the value is excellent.

The Pension Sofia is small extremely well maintained (Rooms and gardens) hotel in a great location within Paros. The family and staff do so much to make the hotel both friendly and efficient. They do so much to make their guests welcome.

The hotel is about a ten minute walk from the port in a great location. Parikia feels like a bigger resort than you find on many Greek Islands, but at this time of year it is a great place to stay, with plenty of facilities (e.g. launderette) on your doorstep. There are numerous bars and restaurants within the resort, too many to mention. Paros is a great place to share a bottle of wine and watch the sun go down.

The town beach (turn right at the sea-front) gave some good sub-bathing time this year, however if the beach boat is running Martselo is probably a superior beach.

We have been to Paros on 3 occasions now, and Pension Sofia would definitely be our first choice when looking for somewhere to stay.

Manuel was kind enough to pick us up at the airport and also take us to the port upon our departure. I can't say enough good things about this place. He and his wife Sofia were lovely folks and very accommodating. We had a nice room (triple) with a beautiful view. The balcony from our room was very large and nice. There was also a table and chairs outside our door where we had breakfast. We had an omelette, yogurt with fruit, coffee and orange juice which were all very tasty and at a reasonable price. Everything was decorated very simple and tasteful. Beautiful colors. Although we didn't get to spend much time in the gardens they were beautiful to look at with many sitting areas and hammocks to enjoy. There was also a sitting room in the lobby where they had a computer you could use free of charge. Everything was neat and clean and was always being kept up by the owners and staff. It is close enough to walk to the center, yet in a quiet location away from all the tourist traffic. Since I got my tip for this room from tripadvisor I am hoping this helps others as well. I can't remember the room #, but it was also a tip from another review on tripadvisor.

Stayed at Pension Sofia with my husband and my 1,5 years old daughter. We loved the place! Excellent place to stay with kids - big garden, animals to look at, and not to mention; the lovely breakfast in the garden:) Good loocation, between the beach and the town. The hosts were very friendly.

The owner recommended a restaurant nearby called TRATA. We had our best meal in Greece at that place! Home cooked greece meze to a good price. Highly recommended!

Stayed @ Pension Sofia in Septcmber 2010. Was surprised to see the owner waiting @ the dock to give my wife and me a ride to the pension. Located close to town and a decent beach down the street. Owners were very friendly and solved an issue with the TV the same day. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.
