We stayed here about a week ago & had a fantastic time! The houses are spotless! Staff are very friendly and helpful. It's an amazing holiday village. Kids loved playgrounds, tennis court & astro turf. We were on beach early every morning with kids crab fishing and building sand castles. It's literally 5 minutes walk from property. Some fabulous places to visit locally also. The games night organised was great fun & it was great to see everyone get involved both adults and children! We loved it so much we have booked 4 houses for October mid term break!! Looking forward to it already
im just back from hookless holidays, if my family and I were to agree on anything it would be how amazing our stay was here. it was 2 mins to a small little beach but if u have brought an elder i would recommend going to another beach as u have to climb over a few rocks and then walk through the sea to get to the actually beach but the beach down there is amazing so if your able go to it. its just 4/5 mins to the village of fether-on-sea, there are grate places to it eat and a shop (londes) which dose not look like anything from the outside but it is massive when you get into it, if you your nets , buckets or spades theyve got you covered. we also visit hook light house which was not even 5 mins away and then to loftus hall the most haunted house in Ireland. over all it was a wonderful stay and i will be back and this time with my pet dog as they allow pets as long as they are on a lead and are quit and friendly. There is just 1 tiny tiny thing but i understand why the Wifi is not grate so if you are coming here to do work that includes wifi i would recommend having hot spot or 3G/4G that is just beause they are sectioned near the sea. thank you so much for a grate time and a fantastic holiday.
Just returned from a glorious week on the Hook Peninsula. The house was great, overlooking the beautiful ocean. So many fabulous beaches and great places to visit. Our only niggly complaint was the sofas in the living area were very uncomfortable. Great place for children to play and make new friends. Very safe. John was very quick to fix small problems of a broken shower door and lack of hand towel.
I'm sure the amazing weather helped our holiday but I would definitely stay here again. Thanks guys.
Just back from 3 night stay in Hook. These houses are perfect location to explore Wexford & Waterford. Travelled with family, small kids 2-6 yrs, the site itself is perfect for kids with playgrounds, football and tennis courts, Beach 5 mins walk away. Houses perfect for famlies each bedroom having an ensuite is a real bonus.
Negatives would be houses are a bit on top of each other and you are overlooked by neighbours. The house we stayed in could have been cleaner. In a previous answer from the owner.."the early checkout is to allow cleaners time to clean as it is a three bedroom house" considering we left the house cleaner than it was when we arrived, an hour would have been plently of time for cleaners, also I appreciate we dont get the hot weather in Ireland very often but the kitchens were way too hot a glass roof and windows with no blinds don't help. Ants were a problem in the kitchen.
Overall we had a great few days in Wexford, but asking paying guests to clean doors, mirrors, and more or less everywhere else is a bit much. I would advise anybody booking a stay here bring cleaning products/cloths and soaps for bathrooms.
My family and I (total 3 adults and 3 kids) are just back yesterday from our 3rd visit to Hookless village. The kids ranged in age from 17 months to 9 yrs. The location is perfect to explore the whole peninsula and the houses are all very comfortable. We had a couple of little niggles while we were there but my gauge of a business is how it responds when you raise an issue. Take a bow Mandy in the office!
If you haven't been to Hookless Village before the essential info is
- short stroll to sandeel bay (beautiful beach)
- 5 minute drive to lighthouse (which has lots of complimentary lawn games infront) as well as a great tour.
- new to us was a 90 min sea kyaking tour around baginbun head (thanks to hook adventures in fethard on sea
- Templars inn and the strand inn (duncannon) are a must do.
-Loftus hall has beautiful gardens (as well and a fantastic tour....which the 6 and 9 yr old loved)
Still so many things we have to do that we haven't done yet.
We will be back
We spent 4 days here - four families in two houses. Wish it had been 2 weeks. Not sure what it would be like in bad weather, but in the good weather it was heaven. The houses were perfect, the kids had a blast, and the beach was beautiful. No issues. The wifi was very dodgy, almost useless, which didn't bother me much but it would be good to be aware in advance in case you were planning to get some work done.
We'll be back next year for sure.
We have just returned from an amazing family get together in Hookless Holiday Homes. We spent 5 nights here with 15 adults and 10 kids. We rented 4 houses, upon arrival the lovely receptionist checked us in early and gave us all the details, the houses were spotless and a credit to all the hard working cleaners. Adults and kids all had such an amazing time between fun in the playgrounds, Astro turf pitch, tennis and then the 4-5 min walk to the most secluded beach. We found the place to have a lovely atmosphere even though there seemed to be young people relaxing after exams in some of the houses, they were polite and really friendly and even came over to ask if they minded if they played some music! (Our party was louder)
This is a real gem of Wexford and we will def be returning on our own and as a large family gathering again! If you want to unwind and have real quality family time this is the place to go!! The lighthouse is a must see. Amazing place and the tour guide was brilliant. I would give loftus house a miss the next time!
