“This Masseria has it all!”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

Everything about Masseria Salinola is perfect. Right from the moment we arrived we felt welcome and instantly relaxed. The Masseria is very well maintained and beautifully decorated. The back terrace over looking the pool is a beautiful place to unwind and relax with a book or enjoy a pre dinner glass of local wine! Our Suite #7 was very clean and comfortable and the furniture and decor was simply stunning. A highlight of our stay was the evening meal, a delicious menu of home cooked food using fresh produce from the garden. The soft music, flowers and candles set the mood for a very enjoyable evening. Daniele and his family are wonderful hosts and take pride in their attention to the smallest detail of their Masseria. We also did the bike riding tour that Daniele recommended and it was fantastic, don't miss it! We were very sad to leave after 4 nights and would rate our stay at Salinola with our best travel experiences. Thank you Daniele, everything was perfect.

This family-owned property is a delight, and everything is very-well looked after, down to small touches and details. The food is wonderful and you should have dinner at least once during your stay. Those with a sweet tooth will enjoy the array of breakfast cakes. The location can be a little hard to find- follow directions on the website as opposed to the GPS instructions. The location was convenient for exploring the sites on our list- Alberobello, Lecce, Matera and the sea. Central Ostuni is also worth a look, once you get beyond the drab outskirts.

Room Tip: Room 6 is newly renovated and very cute but the shower has a bit of a musty smell. Not a huge deal f...

a stay at Masseria Salinola provides as many pleasures as there are home-baked pastry offerings at each morning's sumptuous breakfast buffet. The Masseria is a historical building family owned and operated as both a Bed and Breakfast and a producing farm, and spending several nights there on two occasions while touring Puglia this March quickly made us feel like coming home after a day of activities. Guest relations are handled by Daniele who attended to our wellbeing most graciously, assisting us with reservations, preparing fresh coffee and in between snacks for us, assuring that we always had everything we needed in our room, and making himself available to provide information on all subjects from the best seafood restaurant to successfully purchasing real estate in the area. The delicious food served in the Masseria's restaurant is prepared from scratch by Daniele's mother and resisting her baked goods in the morning was all but impossible. We stayed in two different accommodations during our visits and both were very comfortable and stylishly decorated, providing a minibar, flatscreen television, efficient radiant heat (very comforting during Puglia's chilly March evenings), deluxe linens, and great hot showers. The suite was very spacious and we could easily see ourselves making it our home base for a week in the summer when guests can take full advantage of the Masseria's beautifully maintained patios, terraces, large outdoor pool and hot tub. The property is very conveniently located outside Ostuni and within short driving distance to Ceglia, Martina Franca, Cisternino, Alberobello and nearby Adriatic coastal communities - yet the walled in and gated grounds feel utterly private and permeated by peaceful quietness and the centuries old lifestyle of Italy's southern regions. So saying our good-byes to Daniele and his family and driving out the gate we felt blessed to have come across such a heavenly place, indeed.
Many thanks - Martina and Jim

Arriving to Masseria Salinola is like entering the set of an old Italian movie. The scenic surroundings add more value to the experience while the care for details and the personal approach of Daniele and his family make you feel valued and among friends. I couldn't appreciate more the support Daniele gave us in organizing a surprise on our friend's birthday, he was just perfect! Another thing that I enjoyed was the decor throughout the Masseria, starting with the rooms, the gardens, the pool and the restaurant.

We stayed at Masseria Salinola for just a single night in March, but we were so amazed that we think we must return on day for a longer period. The masseria is an old farm house were salt was stored (that's for the name) and has a couple of cosy rooms. We were almost the only guests, which even added to the relaxed atmosphere. The rooms are simple, but tastefully furnished and a pleasure to stay in. For lunch we had bread with local ham and salami, cheese, olive oil and olives, a simple thing but so increadibly tasty! The same is true for breakfast, which was a treat! The place is highly recommended and we would have opted to stay there rather then going back home:)

Had the pleasure of a visit with Daniele and his family at Salinola. This masseria provides luxury accommodation, excellent food and generous hosts, who are very keen to share their beautiful environment with each guest. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and extremely sumptuous. A perfect base for exploring fantastic Puglia!
