We had a look at sereral agriturismo restaurants during our stay in sardegna and this one was the best of them all. It manages to keep the charm of a family run enterprise, but still the apperance of the whole place, the service and the quality of the food is outstanding and professional.

They have a very nice terrace and rustic tables. The view with the mountains and the valley is awesome.

There is not really a menue to chose from. You just sit down and whait what the chef has in mind for this evening. A very interesting experiance!
My partner is a vegetarian but with every course they found something really nice for her.
The sardian kitchen is very meat- or seafood-based so that was an accomplishment that not all the restaurants we went to achieved.
The dishes are typical sardian. I know "typical sardian" is claimed by nearly every restaurant on the island, but here it is true!

You definetely need to make a reservation, just turning up might end up in disappointment as they only prepare the food for a certain number of guests.
We turned up early in the evening and they were just able to fit us in. Another couple that came in a little later was send away...

The value is outstanding! Antipasti, Primi, Secondi, Dolci, Café and the good local red wine came as a total of just over 30 Euro. If you would order all this in a "regular" restaurant you might pay easily twice this amount.

The restaurant is not easy to reach. it is on a road which goes to the guappo canyon, and I recommend going to that restaurant if you are coming back from a trek in the canyon. They served us amazing typical sardinian dishes which were delicious and fresh.

Warm people, great food and wine and beautiful nature.

Be sure you make a reservation for Saturday dinner in time, since you may be left without the unique experience of enjoying the atmosphere of the loud trattoria out in the hills! If you do not make it, go at least for the antipasti and wine. Breakfast is well above the average, offering a wide range of cold meats, cheese, eggs, pastries and juices.

Rooms are clean and adequate while the terrace in front of them offers great views over the Odoene valley (look for some great wineries there!) and Goropu mountain range,

Many thanks to Angelo and his team.

Although Sardinia has some of the most astonishingly beautiful coastlines in the world, travelers must make time to explore its mountainous, bucolic interior abounding with vineyards, olive groves, fig trees, hilly vistas as far as the eye can see, and, more importantly, absolute peace and quiet.

Agriturismo Rifugio Gorropu, with its proximity to the amazing coves Cala Gonone, but also nestled on one side of the canyon Gola Gorropu, offers the best of both worlds. Where do I start?

The rooms overlook these gorgeous and tranquil foothills--a view that will instantly mellow and sooth the most high-strung, stressed-out city dweller.

If you stay here, you absolutely must choose half-board (breakfast and dinner). This is authentic Sardinian food lovingly prepared, all of it fresh and local. You know Maddalena, the cook, is the real deal because she would often poke her head from the kitchen into the dining room to be sure that the guests were enjoying her concoctions. Even by Italian standards, this is A LOT of food, so I recommend working up an appetite during the day (hiking, swimming, and eating a light lunch) because you're not going to want any of this incredible food to go to waste: handmade pastas, breads, incredible pecorino, ricotta, and Sardinian prosciutto, meats, abundant wine.

Angelo, the manager, is energetic, extremely helpful and all of the staff are just so genuinely sweet, I was really sad to leave.
