“Fabulous Lunch!”
Reviewed 16 August 2013

Despite holidaying locally on a regular basis - we had only visited this restaurant once before.
We really enjoyed it the first time and I have been nagging my husband to take me back for lunch which we did. When we arrived we were the only people there despite it being a Saturday. However, this did not detract at all - we sat outside on the lovely terrace and looked at the fabulous scenery. The lady who served us, came across as more than just a waitress as she was very knowledgeable about the menu. She reassured us everything was organic and locally sourced. The organic Chardonnay was the best I have tasted in a long time, in an area where white wine is poor at best. She was very pleasant without being overbearing, we were given all the time in the world to eat and chat and every course was served with interesting details about the origins of the food, and how it was prepared.
When we came to pay, we commented on how nice the home made Cantucci biscuits were and we were given bag to take away.
Cost wise it was in the upper end of what we would pay for a lunch and certainly more expensive thatn other restaurants in the area, but we felt it was worth every penny.

My husband and I were lucky enough to spend one night at this excellent B&B, which is situated in the gorgeous hills outside of the medieval center of Anghiari. The old farmhouse is beautifully and tastefully restored, preserving most of the original architectural details. It is simple, clean and comfortable, with original and period furnishings, and not at all overly cute. Our room was spacious and filled with natural light, and it offered great details like nice towels, soaps, and shampoos, and free wifi that worked well. We made the fortunate decision to eat dinner in the restaurant, where we received the undivided attention of our warm hostess, Annika (hope the spelling is close!). Granted, we happened to have been the only guests for dinner that night because of some strange timing, but it was clear that the quality of the service would have been up to the same standard even on a busier evening. She graciously worked to accommodate our very limited Italian language skills in order to give us a full tour of the old building and detailed explanations of the menu items, virtually all of which were locally and carefully sourced and expertly prepared. It was one of the best meals of our two week Italian tour. If we are lucky enough to return to the Tuscany, we would love to return here for a longer stay. One piece of advice: it's easy to get lost on your way to this place if you don't have some excellent directions or GPS.
