Fantastic place just by the see, and much better than expected from the outside.

We had pizza and burger and the food was great but stil with there own taste - and that's not always that easy with this kind of food.

We loved this small restaurant and ate their twice during our stay in Both meals were excellent. The restaurant opened two years ago. The chef/owner is committed to using locally sourced high-quality ingredients. Simple preparations with great tastes. The owner was head chef at the Union Hotel for six years before starting Posten. Located on the main dock next to the tourist office.

After spending the first half of our cruise in damp rainy conditions it was wonderful to arrive in Geiranger to sunshine and warm weather! After a trip up to Dalsnibba and to the fjord museum, then walking around town (not that big) we were looking for a break. My husband and I found seats out on the deck. The service was good and the burger was very good as was the beer we had. Prices were on par for Norway. Worth a stop for food and the view alone!

Nicely prepared and locally sourced food served by friendly waiters; weather allowing they have a nice outside terrace. Definitely a haven in the kingdom of fast food around. Thank you for existing!

We have just returned from a cruise to Iceland & Norway. One of our stops was to be Geiranger and as we intended to spend the day in and around the village I had done some research into what to expect.
As it turned out we had a delightful visit to both Geiranger and the Posten, although I must at this point say that our experience of both was probably dramatically influenced by the weather, which was wonderful, with temperatures in the high seventies! So everywhere looked at its best.
As 'The Brasserie Posten' was recommended by other travellers visiting Geiranger we had already decided we would give it a try. However if we had not seen any reviews we would have been drawn to it anyway for its position alone. It's in the most delightful setting, with, on one side, the fjord, and on the other, a picture postcard view of the village's quaint wooden buildings, in what can only be described as a dream setting. In fact I had already spied it from our balcony before we docked and decided we must make a point of stopping there as it looked such a delightful spot to take a break, imagine my surprise when we arrived to find it was in fact the Brasserie mentioned on Tripadviser!
We sat outside so we could enjoy the view and the weather but I did take the opportunity of having a look at the inside of the restaurant which although small was tastefully decorated with a lovely atmosphere. The outside terrace has only half a dozen tables but as stated has wonderful views to all sides, I noticed that as a nice touch for cooler days the restaurant had provided rugs on the chairs to keep people warm.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, The service and food were both good and I would certainly recommend you giving them a visit.
