We were on a 21 day HAL Norway cruise and we visited Geiranger twice. The first time we went on a fjord cruise and saw the waterfalls and fjord from water level from a smaller boat. The cruise ship also went by the waterfalls when it was leaving both times so we got a lot of pictures of the falls. The second time we stopped there we did the panoramic small bus tour which gave us great views from 3 different viewpoints above the fjord. Both times the staff was friendly and helpful and gave us our money's worth in the tours. Someone who was there on their own or even on a cruise ship could probably do both tours in a single day but they would have to watch their time if on a cruise.
