We won the tickets on the local radio and, of course, had to take a trip when the opportunity offered a tour of the Geirangerfjord.

We did not have the opportunity to participate before the end of the season, so we had an autumn trip in the Geirangerfjord.

The boat is new and has big windows, and it is possible to walk around the hole boat on the outside deck.

It has been a long-held dream of mine to cruise the fjords, but that's difficult if your hubby doesn't want to do a cruise! So we compromised and booked a weekend in beautiful Alesund, in the knowledge that we could do this day trip. Having had 6 weeks of almost constant heavy rain in Alesund, we were worried that we wouldn't see much, but on the day of our trip the sun came out (it rained every other day we were in Norway). It was stunningly beautiful, an experience I will never forget! The boat was comfortable, there was a refreshment kiosk on board, and clean toilets. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this trip.

Dont usually make a fuss or write bout what we do, but this trip was great so here goes.

Really good, convenient boat tour into Geiranger from Alesund. We had wanted to get into the fjords for a look round while we were headin down the Norwegian coast, but there wasnt a lot of options at this time of year.
Helpful lady in Alesund tourist office told us bout this new service, so we thought we'd give it a go.Glad we did.
Even if the weather wernt so good, the boat was warm and gave easy viewing from the comfy chairs. Not usually fond of having headphones on, but there was an interestin audio guide thing tellin stories as we scooted along.
Always good to come across somethin thats better than your expectations. a great find. Highlight of our trip so far.

Dear visitor, thank you for your feedback on Our New boat tour from the town Ålesund to Geirangerfjord/UNESCO. As we know traveling on Public transportation or by car in off season has some challenges in Norway due to snow and Limited busses. So this tour is a great option to start in Ålesund and enjoy the Unesco Geirangerfjord in one day without hassle of driving.

We started this Fjord Cruise trip right in the middle of Alesund. It was easy to find the brand new catamaran boat which was berthed just next to the visitors information center in Alesund's Brosundet harbour.
The tour started at 10am and took 3hrs to travel into Geiranger. The promise of 3 fjords in 3 hours was spot on, as we enjoyed the changing views together with an excellent audio guide commentary. This boat trip follows the traditional route of how people used to get around in the old days before roads. The locally produced audio guide recounted stories about the places and people along the way. It was a good mix of facts and figures along with more personable stories and the local characters.

Definitely take a camera and have a warm coat with you too. While the new boat is warm and comfortable inside the lounge, you'll probably want to pop up onto the upper deck to really take in all the dramatic landscapes. We were lucky to take this trip on a cool autumn day when the colours on the birch trees were turning to yellows and reds - fabulous.
Arrived in Geiranger at 1pm and enjoyed the 3 hours to walk around the small and charming town. The waterfall walkway is recommended and easy to find.
After our walk which included a visit to the Norwegian Fjordsenter (cultural and historical exhibitions of the UNESCO fjord) as well as a fine lunch at a local cafe, we boarded the MS Geirangerfjord II at 4pm for our return trip to Alesund.
The tour follows the same route both ways, but there is so much to take in that our return leg helped to fill in the blanks. The scenery unfolding in reverse as we made our way from the deep fjords, back out to the more wide-open city by the sea, Alesund.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, even adding to the local stories while serving us at the kiosk in the lounge. It was great - making us almost feel like one of the locals.

What a day out on the fjord. This brand new boat made us feel like we were traveling first class. It's a smooth ride in the catamaran and the 3hr journey passed surprisingly quickly - there's so much to see.

We would definitely go again and recommend this to others who are looking for a full day activity to see an amazing fjord.

You can also do this tour one way and return a different day. Maybe we'll do that next time so we can enjoy a weekend in Geiranger.

This tour is a simply must-do when in Geiranger. The Skywalk opened in 2016, takes you 1500 mtrs with a stop on the way at Flydalsjuvet with stunning views over the fjord. On arrival at the Skywalk the views are breathtaking. Clouds puff just below, with an almost moon-like landscape, many photo opportunities and stunning views. It must be one the most beautiful vistas in the world. We booked this 2.5 hrs tour prior to leaving the UK for £39 pp printing our own tickets with very easy instructions for arrival which were perfect. Our guide kept us entertained with lots of information and annecdotes, very knowledgeable too. 100% recommend.
