A fantastic trip led by Rogier van Oosterbaan started 03032018 and ended 10032018.If you want to discover (in an active way) a part of Norway plan a trip with Rogier. Know lots of the country ... is social and also a very good cook.

My opinion is that Rogier made the difference!!!

A huge thank you to Anne with Norway AdvenTURes! The entire trip she put together was wonderful. I first visited Oslo for an evening, which was enough in the city as I was more anxious to get out of the city and into the wilderness. The first town of Flam was especially enjoyable, as was the scenic train to Flam…this should be on everyone’s itinerary. The cruise through the Fjords on my way to Bergen was also spectacular; especially with a visit from some killer whales in the Fjords that is apparently a very rare sighting. Next I visited Tromso, what a neat town that is. Saw the Northern Lights on two separate occasions, went husky sledding, reindeer sledding, and whale watching. Even though we didn’t see any whales on this trip, the scenery was spectacular and well worth the trip. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better week in Norway, and was very glad and thankful to Anne for arranging the itinerary, and for her excellent communication even after business hours.

Thank you so much Jeff for your kind words. It has been such a pleasure working with you. I 'travelled' a little with you through our communication along the way and I was as thrilled as you were. Imagine seeing Killer Whales in the Nærøyfjord while taking the ferry, never happened before, you are one lucky guy.
I hope we can welcome you back sometimes in summer, so we can take you out hiking and kayaking in the Fjords, and you are absolutely welcome to come and visit our sheepfarm in Davik, Nordfjord.
Kind regards, Anne

We had a fantastic experience with Rogier and Anne. Me and my wife wanted to do an all around tour of Norway, and with our travel dates approaching, I quickly realized planning it myself was too ambitious without intimate knowledge of the country. I got in contact with Roger, told him my absurd timeline, our "must sees" and generally what we were looking for. They did a fantastic job arranging all boutique places to stay and mapping out the itinerary for where to go when. Our favorite part of the trip was staying on a beautiful farm in Aurland, and being connected with an amazing host who showed us around her personal farm and it was such a great experience, up close and personal with waterfalls, goats, and history. This trip really opened my eyes to the benefits of using a travel agent in a foreign country, and I highly reccomend going with their business!

Dear Steven, thank you for taking the time to write the review. I must admit that we thought we saw wrong when you asked for designing a trip for you 10 days prior to arrival :-) but we also felt the obligation to help you out, and did our utter best to make it work. Yes, we agree that it is a big advantage to use a local agent, we do know our country best, since we both live and work here. The joy of our work is, afterwards, hearing and reading experiences like yours. We are happy you enjoyed our country, and maybe some day we can welcome you back? You have to come and visit us at our sheepfarm in the Fjords then. Kind regards from the Fjords of Norway, Rogier and Anne

A dozen of us Americans mainly in their 60s hired Rogier and Norway AdvenTURes for a week of leading our hiking trip in September. We are relatively vigorous hikers, love to travel, and enjoy good hotels and food. Rogier excelled at fulfilling all of our needs and wishes, and more. He is a very smart and personable guy, engaging, full of interesting information, and very vigorous. Every aspect was well planned, and he adapted well to situations that arose. He arranged a superlative set of hikes, well targeted to our abilities, and accommodated different abilities as needed. In addition, he set up visits to a modern farm, historic winter and summer farms, a local hydroelectric plant, a small town, and a historic site where a town was engulfed by a tsunami in the fjord. On our day off from hiking, he diverted us with an enjoyable kayaking trip to an inaccessible part of the fjord. He also found us three unique hotels with great character and excellent food. In brief, every detail was expertly planned, superbly targeted to our needs, and professionally carried out. I recommend Rogier and Norway AdvenTURes wholeheartedly - he's the best guide we've had in many trips!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed review. Our hearts sing when we read your words, it is so wonderful to read how you experienced your trip and that you really enjoyed it. We have to say that you have an amazing group of people and that also made the trip special for us. Both Rogier and Jon truly enjoyed guiding your group, and I (Anne), although far too short, am very happy to have met you on our farm. We do hope we will meet again. Big hugs from us all, Rogier and Anne.

We were a group of 3 reasonably fit Americans who wanted an exciting and strenuous trip, but had little knowledge of Norway and very little time to plan. We found Rogier and Anne and asked them to plan a partly guided itinerary for us, to do roughly a week of hiking around Norway. We are so lucky we found them! Working with them was incredible. They planned every detail meticulously, from when we picked up our car until we left from Bergen at the end of our trip. In addition to planning the itinerary they arranged all hotels and huts in advance, made sure we knew when we needed to pick up food, or otherwise arranged our meals, arranged for us to have guides where we wanted them (including 3 days with Rogier!). As the trip grew closer, they sent us detailed driving instructions for each stop, lists of things to do when we were on our own, in addition to a detailed packing list and information packet about Norway. Amazing! Having never been to Norway before, I'm sure we would never have been able to plan this trip on our own. In addition to being detail oriented and thoughtful, Rogier and Anne are incredibly responsive to email, despite their busy schedules.

During the trip itself we were able to spend 3 days with Rogier, including one of our most difficult hikes to the top of Skala, where we stayed in the hut at the top of the mountain. This was easily one of the most exciting and memorable experiences any of us have had. And the entire time Rogier was with us, we didn't have to worry about a thing. He was prepared for every type of weather scenario, introduced us to the incredible DNT hut system, and was generally a wonderful companion to have along. His knowledge about the outdoors was very impressive, and I felt we got to learn so much more about Norwegian / Scandinavian culture from him than we would have on a regular tour or on our own.

In summary, I'd recommend Rogier and Anne for any trip to Norway where you are interested in experiencing the outdoors. We're recommending them to family and friends and would absolutely get in touch with them if / when we plan another trip.

Dear Jenn, Alex and Chris. We appreciate it so much that you, with your busy lives, have taken the time to write a review. And such a good one as well. Wow. We were so happy to share one of the most memorabe travel memories with you. That is what Norway does to many people: it conquers a special place in your heart. We cannot be other than proud of showing off our country to people like you. We are here for you when you come back, and of course for your friends and family as well. We will keep in touch. Big hug to the three of you from the Fjords of Norway, Rogier and Anne.
