second time we have stayed, always get the suite with it's own outdoor Jacuzzi it's well worth the up grade, rooms are immaculate and staff very helpful especially Claudia on reception who is just lovely and can't do enough for you. Breakfast has plenty of choice but get down early if you like it hot. There are a few restaurants in walking distance which are very good and if you don't mind walking an extra 10-15 minutes you can be in the centre of Alvor. Would definitely go again

This was the second time we have stayed here as a family. Found the rooms nice and quiet although the sofa bed not too comfy! We enjoyed the walk into the town and to the beach as it gave us some exercise.
Breakfast had a good choice and was constantly replenished. Whilst the hotel was full there was always a table available. Bar was fairly quiet in the evenings when we returned from the town. Reception staff very friendly especially Mario.
Look forward to coming back again.

We spent a week in one of the family apartments.
The location is fair, less than 2 km from the beach and not far from commercial areas. A car is a must.
The apartment is of good size although the quality of materials is average at the best. The balcony is of very good size and we were on the side that overviews the garden and the swimming pool.
The hotel as no restaurant and only some fast food options are available during the day.
What we really disliked was the cleaning service, had to call when checked-in as the toilets were not properly clean and one evening when returning verified the toilet had not been clean but...there is no service after normal working hours. The cleaning staff was not very friendly.
Also the additional charges for safety deposit, swimming pool towels and internet should be reviewed, especially the first two??

We have just come back from a week at the Alvor Luna Village Hotel (our 3rd visit).
It is situated on the outskirts of Alvor in really peaceful surroundings. The centre of Alvor is about 15 mins walk away, and another 10 to get to the beautiful beach - the return walk is up hill (!) The hotel does however have a courtesy bus which makes 3 trips to the beach every day except Sundays - this isn't well advertised, so ask at reception for the timetable.

There is a well stocked supermarket just down the road that sells everything. (If you cannot decide on a good white wine Joao Pires is popular at 4 euros - and sells for between 14 - 16 euros in the local restaurants).

The rooms either face over the car park and greenery - and get the afternoon sun, or towards the back of the hotel and pool - and morning sun. The rooms are very spacious and bright with a large balcony. The kitchen is well equipped, bathroom has a good shower - the hairdryer is secured in the bathroom though, so worth taking your own. Our room was cleaned every day of our stay, fresh towels daily and bed linen changed in the middle of the week. The beds are very hard though.

The reception staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The restaurant staff however have no sense of urgency and most mornings we had to clear tables (especially if we wanted to sit outside which was quieter) and lay the tables too! The breakfasts catered for all tastes with a wide selection of continental and English style foods. There are also juices, yoghurts and fruit - so perfect for children.

The pool itself was welcomed at the end of a hot day. There is also a small child's pool for toddlers.
Most of the sun beds were new and comfortable. We went to the pool late in the day (around 17.00) and only just managed to get a couple of beds.

It can be quite noisy (especially at breakfast and by the pool).

There is seating on a decked area near the bar, a nice area to sit and relax.

There is free wi fi in the reception area but if you want it in your room then it costs about 20 euros for the week - although you can pay for less time if you wish.

This hotel is perfect if you have young children. I think older children could easily get bored as there is no entertainment, games rooms etc.

We travelled as a couple wanting a simple holiday in the sun - and it was perfect.

We would definitely go back :)

Room Tip: I would choose a room at the back of the hotel overlooking the pool and gardens - sunny in the morni...

This place would definitely deserve an excellent from me if it were not for a sunny area to sit in the evenings.
It is a modernised, clean & quiet hotel.
The room we had overlooked the pool & garden areas, more than large enough for us two & would easily suit a family of four. It has an open style bedroom, great kitchen & dining area.
The large balcony also comes furnished with a good standard table & chairs.
It's located approximately 15-20 minutes gentle (& safe) walk to the centre of Alvor. The beach is also a "walkable" distance, but they do offer a courtesy bus a couple of times a day.
The breakfast is of a fairly good standard & can be taken in the extremely clean restaurant or on the balcony area.
If you are using a car there is plenty of free car parking.
The only down side to the pool view rooms are that they lose the sun quite early & this area can be a little cool in the evening without it. It would be a real benefit if they built a seating area somewhere out front of the building where the later sun could be enjoyed.
A major asset to the hotel is the staff, all are very polite & efficient especially Claudia & Mario on reception who are both very knowledgable about the area & more than willing to spend time with you to help & advise.
The next time we visit this area, we will definitely stay here.

My sister and I stayed her for 1 week B&B with our 2 young daughters aged 2 & 3
This is my 4th time to Alvor and I absolutely love it. I normally stay in the Alvor Baia which is all inclusive and I love it but this is the sister hotel.
On arrival the hotel is beautiful reception staff very polite and friendly.
We got to our room which is lovely and very clean and modern with all the amenities required for your stay.
The hotel was just perfect, so quiet at the night time.
The pools were lovely especially the little one for the girls we could get them out of it! The view around the hotel is beautiful and you can actually see the Alvor Baia.
The breakfast was really nice and they served meals at the bar for snacks and lunch however this finished at 4pm which is very disappointing when you have 2 young children.
There is a shuttle bus to the beach which could run more frequently than it does but the beach is beautiful and if you like see food you have to go to a restaurant called Canico it's on the beach and inside a rock, the view is stunning, absolutely breathtaking and the food is just perfect as for the sangria I think it's the best in town. I have been numerous times and they have never disappointed.
I would definitely return to this hotel and recommend it to friends and family.
We have a lovely holiday.
