Just arrived back home today and wanted to leave our review.
On arrival the hotel looks amazing, check in was speedy and the staff were very helpful. Our room was ready but we were delayed and didn't arrive until about 4-30pm. Check out is not till 12pm so it's unlikely your room will be ready if you're arriving in the morning.
Our room was lovely, on the 3rd floor overlooking the tennis courts. We didn't really get the sun on the balcony but we were never in it so it didn't bother us. The rooms are cleaned daily and are nice and spacious. We did struggle to put all our clothes away in the wardrobe but there was 5 of us in the room so we did have a lot of stuff. Some of the rooms are quite a walk away from the pool area so be prepared for the chance you may have a bit of a trek!!
There was a vast shortage of umbrellas and sunbeds at the start of the week and beds were being bagged any time from 7-30am. I didn't see the pool guards removing any towels when beds were not used but they did help people try to find free beds when they were struggling. Yesterday we noticed a whole new batch of beds have been delivered and lots more umbrellas - it is so windy in the afternoons that they kept on breaking. A few people have mentioned that they weren't allowed inflatables in the pool so we didn't bother taking ours but when we got there everyone had them - maybe following the reviews they've changed their policy?
They food is ok - not fantastic and like many other people have commented, the restaurants are very noisy and like canteens. It did become quite repetitive after a week. I have to say They are the most relaxed restaurants we have eaten in in a long time - flip flops and shorts were deemed appropriate for evening meals.
The day time entertainment team were good and there is a fab park for the younger children - this does get very very hot through the day so you're better off going after tea. The entertainment on an evening is appalling and almost non existent. There was a parrot show which was ok but that was about it - fortunately, We didn't have to queue long for drinks at the outside bar like some people have mentioned!!! As we have 3 children we always went to the mini disco at 8-30 which was either downstairs or outside. When it was outside it was very windy and you do need a jacket or cardigan. We did try to get a seat inside to watch Carlos the in house singer but seating is very limited on the main floor so the only place to sit was outside in the chilly air or at the downstairs bar but the kiddies would have been bored as there's not much going on.
One last point - the lift situation is a bit of a nightmare!! Be prepared to use the stairs!! The hotel was full when we Were there and in total there is 7 floors so there was often a large queue for the lifts!
Overall we've had a lovely time but feel that we paid a lot of money for poor quality entertainment and average food.
