I wanted to write this review when I was still staying there, but their wireless is not existent. I got about a 3 hour sleep. The noise was horrible. Firstly the room was facing the gas station and the main street so I could hear the trucks all night long. Then the receptionist kept dragging her chair across the floor making an infernal noise. People checking in and out at different hours...
Leaving the noisy part aside, the room itself was not close to what we paid for,but tgey take advantage of the fact they are so close to the border. Furniture very old. We accidentaly saw the bed matress...you don't want to know!
I read tge other reviews and people said that they claimed the hotel is full at first but they didn 't really see anyone. Don't fall for that! They usually use that with foreigners trying to get some tip.
The restaurant area was very dark and creepy. We waited 1 hour for sone fries and steak. The explanation from the waoter was that they have a new cooking lady and he needs to help her. (?).
Overall...I will never go back and I don't recommend it!

I returned to the Hotel Jackson without high expectations following my previous review but needing a bed for the night. I was passing through en route to Eastern Romania so am not unfamiliar with the prevailing standards of accommodation. Little has changed since November 2006 except that some things are worse. With two companions we were surprised to be told that the hotel was full except for one single and one double room. We also learned that credit cards are no longer accepted "because of the banks". See photo of logo on the door. After reluctantly accepting this another room was miraculously found from nowhere. During the whole of that evening and the following morning we saw only one other person in the hotel who could have been a guest .

We stayed here for one night in March after 1000km road trip, coming from Germany last year. The interior of the motel looks nice but the rooms are very dated, large but dated . At least you have a shower and a bed and if you are really tired you do not hear the noise from the engines from the outside truck parking.
beware that the room have a roof mirror so you get my point what are they used for.
The price was 35e breakfast included which was good and as well the breakfast. we had also dinner which was very good with very good prices.
You can pay with credit card.
If you really feel that you cannot drive anymore, stop here, otherwise go to Arad or better stop in Mako at Autospanzio, with excellent food , accomodation and service.

Romania is a long drive fromthe U.K. After 1300 miles in two days and the inevitable and frustrating time-wasting negotiation with customs at the Hungary-Romania border it is a relief to find anywhere to sleep. This hotel is conveniently situated right on the Romanian side of the border and accepts payment by credit card. English is spoken and the hotel does serve meals up to 10.00pm although I have found them willing to stretch this if the chef is still on site. Don't forget that this is still only 9.00pm on the Hungarian side. Rooms are fairly basic but with en suite showers and Romanian standards of workmanship but clean. If you get the choice opt for a first floor room rather than ground floor as these are somewhat quieter. There is a night club which operates on the first floor at the back of the hotel with very loud music and very few clients but if you are sufficiently tired you will still sleep.
