“Lovely and charming bar and restaurant perfectly tucked away.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014

Lovely little bar / restaurant that we ignored the first few times we walked past as we incorrectly assumed there was no outdoor seating area of which we were looking for. It isn't the fanciest place in Gaucin but it is one of the best places for hospitality and price. Due to this we visited a few times during our stay. The patio is lovely and cool and doesn't get too cold once the sun has gone. We had tapas each time, and although similar in terms of choice to other tapas bars, there was enough difference to make it stand out in its own way. Price cannot be beaten, especially with alcohol - two of the largest glasses of sangria we'd had in Gaucin and a beer came to 4.50 euros. After dinner they surprised us again with a digestif (a grape brandy of sorts) which ended the evening nicely.
Would definitely visit again and I would recommend anyone to try it at least once.

“GREAT food in a cozy place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 January 2014

Nice place. Not fancy but the service, the food and the prices are fabulous. In December 2013 we had lunch. The Menu of the Day included Entree, 1st Plate, Desert and drink for only 12 Euros. You can't ask for more. Home cooking and delicious !

“Great food, amazing value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 October 2013

We stayed in Gaucin in October and came here for dinner several times. It is a simple place, but the food is fantastic - real home cooking. Everything we had was good - I would particularly recommend the garlic shoots with prawns and scrambled egg, it was incredible. The first time we went we couldn't believe the price - 2 courses (you could have 3 but we were full), half a bottle of wine and coffee for 12 euro! It has a nice atmosphere too, with local people dropping in just for a beer. I would really recommend it.

“It doesn't look like much but appearances can be deceptive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 August 2013

A very simple place but with good food. And even better value for money! All three courses of both of the menu del días that we had were very good. Red wine is served in a huge glass and very good.
