“Lovely!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 September 2012 via mobile

This is the best tapas restaurant i ever ate! All tapas are homemade and it seems that the chef really enjoy's cooking his food. It is creative and tastes great! He took the time to explain his tapas and to chat with us for a while. The price is also very good. Approximately 6/7 euro's per tapas. Please don't be mislead if there are not a lot of people in the restaurant. Just try it! You won't be disappointed!

“Best Tapa's I have ever had, bar none”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 August 2012 via mobile

Decided to check out Punto Gastro after reading interesting reviews in Trip Advisor. When we arrived, it was exactly what was described, unassuming and pleasent . However, the fodd was a dream. Choose from the chalkboard on the wall. My wife and I decided to share 4 Tapas the Iberico ham plate,,Cod Fritters,Turbot and the Pork and peppers.
The Iberico ham plate with the tomato salsa was to die for and the homemade cod fritters/croquetes were light and heavenly. Overall, this place is jewel if you like great food that is meticulously prepared and the owners clearly have a passion for. We are staying nearby at the 5 star Insotel Fenicia, which is lovely. However, the Tapas at Punto Gastro are better than anything we have had there. 5 star Tapas at 3 star prices

“Excellent Tapas”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2012

We went to this restaurant as it had rave reviews on Tripadvisor and was not disappointed. The Tapas here is excellent and the staff are very friendly. It did take us a while to find it as it is down a backstreet. Also, the menu is on a big blackboard and now has English translation.

“A jewel in Sta Eulalia”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 August 2012 via mobile

Visited Sta Eulalia in July. Ate at a number if good restaurant, but kept returning here (on one occasion, after eating at another restaurant, we went to Punto Gastro for Cheese & Dessert).
Do not be misled by the quiet location and simple decoration, the food is really very good & creative. Wine list has a number of decent bins also. Service is casual, friendly and non-intrusive.

“Best tapas in St. Eulária des Riu”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 July 2012

The food that we ate here was by far the best food that we ate all holiday, yet this little gem is so unassuming from the outside that we walked past many times before even noticing it. There is a list of 8 or 9 dishes on the blackboard, with no English translations, so you will need a rudimentary grasp of Spanish (or a Spanish dictionary to hand) if you're keen to know what your food is before it arrives at your table. Our waitress also did not speak English (and why should she, we are in Spain after all), but she was nevertheless the most friendly and jovial waitress we encountered all holiday, making the language barrier much less intimidating.

Now, onto the food. When it came, we were totally surprised; it was presented beautifully, in a way that you would not expect for tapas. The flavour in all of the dishes we ordered was wonderful, with a real richness and depth which I find is lacking in many tapas that are served in Spain, which crudely rely on large amount of fats/oils and salt for lingual stimulation. However, here the food was prepared with real skill, flair and a passion for gastronomy. The dishes were brought to us separately, so we didn't feel over-faced or rushed at all, which all added to the enjoyment.

Overall, I would definitely recommend a visit, especially if you're getting a bit tired of the 'menu del dia's' on Carrer de Sant Vicenç. Great food, excellent service, lovely atmosphere, and very good value for money, costing us just €50 for 8 dishes and 2 small beers a piece.
