Stayed for ten nights and really couldn't complain about the hotel or service.

The room was basic but comfortable and perfectly adequate for a base for our holiday.

The food was lovely and gala evenings on Wednesdays, especially good. The menu is repeated each week but at home we eat similar things each week so its not a big issue.

The entertainment was ok. More geared towards older people ( we are in 40's) so spent most nights in Charlies which is great fun.

The only criticism i have is that the air conditioning in the restaurant and lobby areas needs adjusting. The heat is very uncomfortable and definitely spoiled enjoyment of our meals.

My tip would be try Charlie's if you are younger. Take ear plugs as hotel is noisy in mornings due to people scraping furniture across tiled floors. And at night if you fancy turning in early.

On a different subject i wouldn't bother with the secrets of formentera trip organised by thompsons. It was a waste of money and a day.

Had a great holiday and plan to go back to this hotel.

My husband and i have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Hotel Panorama and can honestly say we have had a great time!
This was our first break away without the kids and part of the appeal was the fact that there is no one under the age of 16! I have to say i was a bit concerned after reading previous reviews that we were going to a hotel full of people old enough to be my mum and dad! Not the case, there was a wide range of ages from late teens to us 40 somethings right up to couples obviously enjoying retirement together. Not an issue! Overall the hotel had a very friendly feel. Staff were helpful and always cheery, and generally you could strike up a conversation with anyone.
Hotel is clean and tidy and yes i suppose in parts could appear a bit tired, the odd tile missing from pool wall etc, but i would imagine these are jobs to be done out of season not while the place is full! Maid service every day with fresh towels etc. Our room was a twin room pool view, plenty big enough for what we required. We spent so little time in it that although a smaller room it really did not hinder us!
Food is definitely where the Hotel Panorama exceeded our expectations. We had booked half board but on arrival decided to upgrade to all inclusive for 20 euros each per day ( we easily spent this and more on drinks and snacks/ice creams each day ) so it was the right choice for us. There are a few exceptions to the rule. Even as all inclusive you had to pay a little bit extra if you wanted say a Carling instead of their own beer (think it was an extra euro). This applied to spirits such as Smirnoff Vodka etc. I stuck to Absolute Vodka which is just as good and no extra!!
Back to the food! Breakfast, Full English with proper sausages and proper bacon! The works and delicious. Continental choice, or cereals if you prefer.
In the evening we were treated to a great selection of food, such as Roast beef with Yorkshires, Chinese, Indian and desserts that have helped to expand my waistline! Bread and butter pudding, rice pudding, crumble and custard, profiteroles to name a few! Not once did we enter the dining hall and struggle to find something delicious. I defy anyone to find fault with the food. On to the entertainment:
Yes, i must admit some of the regular singing duos are a little dull, but the Thomson production team that treated us to a night at the musicals were superb. All from a musical theatre background their shows were brilliant. On our last night we had a tribute act of Lennon and McCartney who were great. Everyone knows the words to those don't they!
Charlie's bar just across from the hotel is popular, its not part of the Panorama but has acts on every night. Good fun atmosphere.
Es Cana itself was lovely. Bustling at night with several bars and places to eat.
The hotel is right on the seafront and every night after our meal a little stroll was in order (desserts needed walking off, need i say more!).
Quite a family orientated place which is nice. A few what i now see as youngsters, but well behaved and felt safe walking around.
Please do not let negative reviews sway your decision. I often feel that there are some people that go with the intention of nit picking from the minute they arrive. Yes we all expect standards
but if you desire perfection i don't understand why these people don't go 5* in the first place.
Noise was not an issue. The entertainment at the hotel went on until midnight so i suppose if you wanted an early night you would still hear a bit but not enough to disturb. Its a holiday for goodness sake! People are having fun.
Go and see for yourself x

Room Tip: Sea view or pool view

I had stayed in Ibiza 4 times prior to this, but always in San An. We decided this time we wanted to explore the entire island, and Es Cana is perfect for doing that either with Thomson or making your own way round using the water taxi's or buses (discobus runs from 11:50pm - 6:30am for those that want to go to bars and clubs in other parts of the island).

There are a mixture of ups and downs with the Hotel Marina Panorama.

Firstly the ups: -
Staff were excellent. They always had a smile on their faces when working.
Pool is lovely.
Food is varied daily for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is the same, but a wide choice is on offer, catering for all.
George & Sarah (Gold Travel Advisors) gave us all of the information we needed, and we wasn't disappointed with the excursions they had sold us.
Room was cleaned daily. The maid's were very friendly.
Hayley & Harry done a great job of keeping everyone entertained with the daily activities. Sadly Harry has left, but Tom has done a great job of fitting in and looks like a great addition to the hotel.

Bad points (all could be improved/ didn't bother us): -
We had a room on the older part of the building, which was dated. The layout of the bathroom wasn't ideal, especially for someone larger or with mobility issues. We don't go on holiday to stay in our room all day, so this wasn't a problem for us, but could be for someone sad enough to go on holiday and worry about things like this.

The entertainment wasn't as good as the previous Thomson Gold hotel we had stayed in. This might be due to Thomson changing, but the 2 warm up acts (Midnight Express & LA2) are terrible. Its like karaoke down at the dog and duck.
As I said, Thomson Gold have changed their entertainment, we believe it is a money saving thing because they are now using a 'Gold Production Cast', which is the same 4 people doing different shows. We preferred the change of personnel every night at the previous hotel. Out of 2 weeks, they had 4 acts that were brought in, and all of these went down very well with everyone staying at the hotel.

I'm not someone who will take photo's of fixtures and fittings because I'm not sad, but I will leave you with the view from just outside of the hotel.

I would recommend to anyone!

Room Tip: Entertainment finishes at 12-12:30am every night, but if you are looking for a more modern room with...

We booked with Thomson for the panorama with high expectations but what a let down. We have travelled to a lot of places but never have we stayed in a room so basic. The bed was so uncomfortable and the bathroom was practically falling apart! I had to ask for clean bedding on day 7 as this hadn't been done. The resident singers were dire, if this is what Thomson call gold then omg. I was also stopped by a Church of England woman in the lobby which I would least expect on my holiday. However, the food was very good and could not complain about that. I must admit if it wasn't for the weather I could have been in skeggy! This has put us both off package holidays although a lot of people seemed to enjoy it, maybe as they were a lot older and were serial returners

Just got back from an 11 night stay at the so called 4 star marina panorama. Hotel looks nice from outside but we had a room in the newly built block a what a shock upon entering the room for the price we payed. Room needs refurbishing and the bed was nothing more than a camp bed. Only thing was the maid always did an amazing job. Now onto getting some sleep. The doors in general are so loud when they shut and yet people don't help by just slamming them. To people reading this it may seem pety but i defy anyone else to say they didnt notice. Trust me they slamm at all hours. Take ewar plugs.I also feel this is a poor all inclusive hotel and nothing like your standard all inclusive. I no way consider this a 4 star hotel. Staff are lovely tho and they really do work hard and the food is very good. You won't be dissapointed there. I also feel in my view that this hotel is geared to mainly older people. Were in our early 40's and felt that. The entertainment also seemed a let down. Very mediocre and one night it said an act was flown in especially from the u.k. when the person does the rounds in other bars. Sorry Thomson, very dissapointed for the money we payed. Been to a lot of all inclusive places and this is not in my top ten. Es canar seems to have gone down hill about since we went few years ago. Would not return.
