“Best Holday ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 October 2006

My wife and I (Late 50's) have just returned from 11 night stay in this hotel. The hotel itself was fantastic. The meals offered the best selection of food I have ever experienced at any hotel. The view from our room and balcony which overlooked the harbour and beach was absolutely awesome. Although there was a supplement for rooms with sea views, I think it was worth every penny. The room itself was exellent and kept spotless by the cleaning staff. The cheerfullness and friendliness of all staff created a relaxed and enjoyable holiday atmosphere.
The entertainment staff, Ian and Lucy were very friendly and approachable and provided several activities during the day and were excellent hosts for the evening entertainment. The evening entertainment provided the most professional shows and entertainers I have ever experienced at any holiday hotel. The nightly dance by the waiters created a superb atmosphere and went down well with all guests. Although there was the usual problem of selfish guests claiming sunbeds early in the morning. We had no problem aquiring a sunbed no matter what time of day. The manager's welcome party where all hotel staff were introduced to guests was a marvelous gesture - which we have never experience before - and was appreciated by all guests who attended. This has been the most enjoyable holiday we have ever had mostly due to the standard and location of the hotel and the professionalism and friendliness of hotel staff and Thomson entertainment team and can't wait to return next year.

we visited the panorama from 9th august to 23rd.First impressions were very good and having read other reviews it seemed really good overall.I have to agree with another reviewer about the price of drinks in the hotel, they were disgustingly overpriced for local, very cheap beer.example. one and a half pints of local lager in the hotel £6 euros, round the corner in apaches bar £3 euros for two pints. Now I paid full holiday brochure price and I am not at all happy with the bar prices at the hotel. After paying over £2000 for two for a two week stay,I should not feel obliged to go and have a drink elsewhere because of the inflated price of beer at the hotel, and the waiters expect tips at every opportunity. The hotel itself is excellent,no question,we visited quite a few others while we were there and none came up to the same standard. The sat tv kept breaking down on a regular basis and We paid extra for a sea view room.DONT do this.there is a bar called charlies to the left of the hotel and its open till 4 am every night and is very noisy..a pool view is a better option. The food was outstanding and I do not agree it was nhs quality or samey.obviously things will be repeated if you are there for two weeks but the a la carte and the gala dinners are really good,as is the food in general, proper bacon at breakfast.....mmmm...The sunbeds are a joke,as mentioned before, all taken up very early on and nobody using them.there is a notice on the outbuilding outlawing this but no action is taken and it is ignored.the resort is very nice, a bit small but really nice on the whole.nice bar called rio's on the road to santa eulalia, only 5 minutes walk from the hotel, very good sunday dinner.....probably best suited to a weeks stay rather than two but each to their own..great beach and the little noddy train that leaves from outside the hotel in the afternoon is a good trip for the culture....some good english bars.good staff in hotel, activities a bit boring but ok i suppose.rooms are quite small but have a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and are well air conditioned.make sure your patio door is shut or air con does not work..dont buy a paper from the hotel, walk round to the shop,20 cents cheaper, not a lot i know but what with the bar prices, they are taking the [--] charging more for a paper, which are dear enough already.£2 euros.....All in all I would recommend this hotel,it is lovely, but I would never pay full brochure price again,we spoke to a couple who were also there for two weeks and they paid £800 less than us.....if you want a peaceful break with NO kids, the best bit, then go to this hotel, you will definitely enjoy it.As others have mentioned,it has an older clientele but this is better than having kids run riot all day...spotless,very clean, and maids in EVERY day....I woul definitely go again but I would look for offers as it is expensive once you are there.good internet cafe just up the road at 75 cents for fifteen minutes as well...never found popeyes bar.May go back and have a look for it.........

Have just returned from a weeks stay at the marina panorama..we first visited in 2002 and enjoyed ourselves so much we decided to return...We booked using the thomson website for the hotel and flight separately and as this is a gold hotel we save almost 200.00 per person..unfortunately this also meant we ended up with a tiny room however the balcony was huge and the sea view fantastic (room 219) We used shuttle direct.com for the transfers and they arrived on time both ways no problem

The hotel as before was spotless, the resort of es cana just the right size...not too busy and again very clean. We had the problem this time of people putting towels on sunbeds at 6.00am and then not going back to them all day!!!why? some hotels I have stayed in the management go round with a trolley and take any towels not being used, good idea..

anyway the food was good especially the breakfasts and the evening meals okay but got a bit samey as to be expected

The bad points were that nobody greeted you to go into dinner as they used to, the drinks in the hotel were quite expensive for 3 stars and the staff were generally not as friendly as before, this was a shame as this was one of the reasons we returned

oh and the tennis court is now a bowling green! !then again the average age of the guests is probably 55 and this was probably more in demand.. we are in our 30s so disappointed we didnt get to play tennis as on our previous visit.

On the whole a good holiday but glad we didnt pay the full brochure price

If you get the chance go on the ibiza uncorked excursion...excellent day out to ibiza town and the can rich winery made our holiday!!!

  • Liked — position of hotel and resort itself
  • Disliked — tiny room

The Panorama Club was one of the original hotels on Es Cana and has one of the best locations across from the beach. The people are uniformly nice and the clientele is a nice mix of young, old families, singles and couples. There are a lot of good restaurants, pubs and stores within a 5 minute walk and there is always something fun to do in the local vicinity. Es Cana is well preserved and has small boats that you can rent by the hour if you are so inclined. In my opinion, Es Cana is one of the nicest parts of Ibiza and this is the nicest hotel in the area.

To give the devil his due: the hotel was very clean, the room nice and well air conditioned and the staff was outstanding.
while the evening entertainment was x-factor reject quality the activity leaders pair - Ian and Lucy were hard working and super in terms of help and advice
but ...
1) Thompson reps didnt have very accurate or in depth information about the area or non on offer Thompson sponsored activities and were not very helpful with any query. Eg no information as to getting to Ibiza town(shopping etc)
2)The food for evening meal was NHS hospital cafeteria quality at best with presentation to match. think steam trays and fried
3)the coffee in the resturant in the morning was absymal and undrinkable, every morning was a quick run next door to the resturant (marvent) for a decent cuppa.
4)at this 'gold' hotel no children means OAP full stop other than the monority (10 -20%) of empty nesters or young couples, sisters, mother & daughters
5) very little outside the hotel as far as resturants or clubs within walking distance if you could discover on your own remember no help from the reps!
If I was retired, boring, and not too fussy about food or facilities maybe - but don't think this place is worth it. It is an overseas holiday camp with out children defiantely a no frills bargin location

My wife and I have just spent a week at the Marina Panorama 1 & 2 (18/25 June/2006) Via FlyGlobespan (check out their website and prices versus others using this hotel)....and found that although being designated a 3*, it deserves a better rating. The hotel was the cleanest we have been in for a LONG time. The staff throughout were extremely friendly add approachable..nothing being too much trouble for them. The range and quality of the food was great, especially the carvery at dinner. Large pool area with plenty of sunbeds (the pool was rarely used considering the number of guests) There is a range of daytime activities should you wish to participate and there is no shortage of evening entertainment, as there are normally two differing groups/entertainers appearing on stage...the first of which starts at around 8pm...the second at 10pm.
As regards location, there's not a lot to do in Es Canar, except eating and sunbathing (weather permitting)...but a short 10 minute local bus journey takes you to Santa Eulalia where you'll find a better range of shopping...a lovely promenade and TWO very clean beaches.
So if you are looking for a really quiet holiday the Marina Panorama is well worth considering.

oh dear, this was our 4th holiday at the panorama, and what a disspointment it was.
the hotel standards have slipped a long way down the pole. the food was always fantastic at the panorama, but this year it was only average, over cooked and a poor selection compared to previous years. and whats happened to the theme nights, waiters dressing up in national costume or cowboys or bullfighters, non of that this year, why?
and trying to get a waiter in the resturant to get some drinks with your meal is impossible.
i noticed a lot of new staff this year and a new manager, perhaps this is the reason.
the pool area service was fantastic as usual, and the rest of the staff very helpfull. the rooms were clean and spotless, well done you cleaners. the entertainment was good, with a selection of music, comedians, and the thompson boys and girls doing there show which was excellent. escana itself is clean and tidy plenty shops cafes and bars. the road outside the hotel is a race track and the quicker its turned into a promanade the better.
the hotel is geared for people of, shall we say, more mature years, couples and the like.
the hotel has just added a massage and jaccuzi area, so go ahead and treat yourself, its great. check out the sauna as well. we were going to book up for october 2006 but i think its time to try somewere else, but we will be back to the panorama in 2007 just to see if its improved. i hope it does, because its a great hotel.
