My husband, myself, daughter and granddaughter have sadly just returned home from a wonderful 2 weeks stay at the Ses Estaques. Firstly we have no complaints at all. The food was first class, something for every taste and the staff were amazing especially Josephine, who always had a smile or you. We agree with some other reviews regarding our 'a la carte' meal at Ses Sevines...the hotel food is far superior, so much so we cancelled our second booking which is disappointing as in previous years it has been very nice. The reception staff were exceptionally friendly and happy with nothing too much trouble, especially Alex and Francis. Our rooms were of ample size with plenty of storage and kept spotless the whole two weeks by Dulce...she was amazing!! Sunbeds were a plenty and no scrambling required the whole holiday. The poolside area, bar staff and food were also exceptional, very friendly and again nothing too much trouble. If we were to make a couple of suggestions it would be to upgrade the hair dryers which don't dry long hair very well, have a proper fridge in the rooms and not a mini bar as none of us needed this although we did sneak in a couple of small bottles of water and possibly a nail & hair salon onsite as I think this would attract a lot of Ses Estaques cliental. Overall an excellent holiday was had by us all and we will be returning for our 5th visit next year (which we have already book). Thank you to all the staff at Ses Estaques.

Room Tip: Poolside rooms cooler during the day but very hot at night. Ses Sevines side rooms hot during the da...

Where do I begin? Maybe I should start with Ibiza itself. Those who've never been and think of it as just a boozed up Balearic for the British lager loving chav, then you are sadly mistaken. Yes, San Antonio has it's share of that but even San Antonio can surprise you. But it's not San Antonio you need to visit...it's the rest of Ibiza. It's a truly spiritual place, every resort different, each offering gems of excitement or serenity. Ibiza town is, in itself, a self-contrasting place - by day a cosmopolitan shoppers' paradise with £40m celebrity yachts moored in the harbour and an air of Vogue - yet by night it turns into a mix of cool bars, a chic vibe and place to celeb watch...I don't think Justin Bieber, Orlando Bloom, Leonardo De Caprio and Fatima Whitbred would have been in Majorca for example...and yes, I did see Justin and Fatima (the worst 50% admittedly - but still cool). And then there's Santa Eulalia - a superb resort with it's own exclusive marina, boutiques a road dedicated to a world of restaurants and even quite a nice beach. It's the place for those looking to relax but have a base that's well connected to the rest of the island.

I've been to Ibiza more times than I can remember and I've relaxed, partied, shopped and enjoyed every minute. However, I'd usually stay at the four star hotel Tres Torres, but after staying there last year I felt disappointed. It sort of felt tired, staff weren't very pleasant any more or happy - in fact, there seems to have been quite a change throughout, and not for the better. So I thought this year I would try a hotel that I visited in 1970 (admittedly I was only 7 years old then but I remember it fondly). The Catalonia Ses Estaques.

The Ses Estaques is a Thomson Gold hotel which means no children under 16 which is soooo good. This is a three star hotel...seriously! To my mind it deserves another star. Drawing up to the entrance you'll immediately get a feeling of quality...not sure why, you just do. The hotel both inside and out is impeccably kept - gardens are meticulously manicured and rooms and communal areas are spotlessly clean. There are two sides to the hotel, one overlooks the pool and Marina whilst the other (the side my from was on) is what's known as the Ses Savinas side named after the small a la carte restaurant around the cove (also owned by the Hotel). Both sides have their merits but I prefer complete peace at night and the pool side hosts the entertainment until midnight every night - which is great because the entertainment is quality and you can enjoy it whilst sipping a wine on your balcony.

On checking in the service was with a smile and a genuine desire to please. We were shown to our room (I'd booked a superior room) and when we entered we had wine and fruit waiting for us. We also had complementary bath robes and slippers. Two days later we returned to our room after a long lazy day by the beautiful swimming pool to find a bottle chilled Champagne. The restaurant at the Ses Estaques continued the theme of quality with a range of dishes each night - the food was simply delicious and prepared to a very high standard. All staff without exception where incredibly friendly and helpful as were the Thomson team.

To be honest, there is so much that's great about this hotel I could go on forever. On departure, staff took care of the luggage and carried it out to the coach and loaded it - we simply checked out and walked onto the coach without having to lift a finger.

I'll be going back without a doubt and I can't wait.

Room Tip: Quieter rooms on the Ses Savinas Side with sea and forest views. Pool side is attractive with marina...

We have stayed at this hotel 4 years running. We feel this years some improvements were made. The poolside bar food had improved considerably. Restaurant had deteriorated . For the prices you pay do not expect to be served , tinned fruit at breakfast and dinner. Choices where limited. I required Gluten Free choices and they were very poor. Rooms are going to require an upgrade to get the best choices and cannot be assured. Staff very helpful if you do have a problem. We may return.

Room Tip: June onwards rooms overlooking the pool are very noisy till midnight due to entertainment.

Dear Madam and Sir,
We would like to thank you for writing your opinion about your recent stay with us, being of the utmost importance for us and our main source to improve our facilities and service.
We appreciate your positive commentaries although we truly regret not having been able to fulfill all your expectations, we highly appreciate your opinion and we will definitely follow up your review. Still I would like to mention that beside the tinned fruit there is always (breakfast and dinner) 3 cut fresh fruit and a basket with fresh fruit in pieces then, related to the free gluten food, although there is not a choise shown in the buffet, we are always available to prepare almost any kind of food is required for allergies.
We certainly hope you will decide to visit us again in the future, thus giving us another chance not only to comply with, but to exceed your highest expectations.

We stayed here for a week, mid July. The comments of other reviewers are true. The hotel is well run, the staff are so friendly, the food is great. The location is great, by the boatyard and marina adds such interest. The room s to this side (afternoon sun) can be by the road at one end, or overlooking the pool and entertainment area at the other. Neither is a problem and there is the lovely view too. On the 'tennis court' side (morning sun), hotel entrance also it seems there may be a problem with waste collection early morning, but we cannot comment on this. Trousers for men at dinner is correct but unfortunately there is always one, and during our stay one lad came in in shorts and flipflops - was told about it but did the same the next night. He was told again and followed the rules the next night thankfully. Just wish the hotel would follow the 'no saving sunbeds' rule. This does spoil the friendly atmosphere because it makes you feel people don't really care. Visitors or staff. The ironing/book/swap room is a great idea. Although a 3 star hotel, and small, and not 'flashy' Ses Estaques seems to have everything you need. Everything 'works'. There is almost too much representation from Thomson. These staff must have a very easy life compared to big hotels with lots of guests and complaints. I truly hope they don't become complacent. It was creeping in we thought. The hotel itself can be relied upon to help you if necessary. Our gripe? Yes, the fridge situation. It would be lovely to be able to keep some water cool of our own, as in most other hotels we visit. This would be a big plus, but the management seem to disagree. We don't think many visitors used the minibar, so it is actually wasted electricity. The prices of drinks were completely acceptable, the entertainment varied - just on too late. Most people killed time until 10pm, which meant sometimes leaving the hotel and spending money elsewhere, which is a shame. The Thomson production team who visited were first class! If you like a proper beach read all other reviews about the beach (rocky) area and Just expect a smallish, much better than 3 star hotel and you won't be disappointed. 46% of visitors there that week were returnees which speaks for itself! Our week started with older people, but finished with much younger visitors arriving. The reception, dining room and waiting staff were all very good. We watched the waiters collecting the tablecloths in at midnight and they were talking and laughing with each other, which suggests happy staff. Fab week overall. Marred at the end by being given the time for leaving as 8.15 am. Restaurant would open early at 7.00am. All geared up for breakfast then finish off in the room BUT the restaurant was not open when we went down at 7.10. We asked and the receptionist who we had not seen before, and he said without apology, that yes it would open at 7.00 and we could go in when the lights came on. We were all waiting and at 7.20 he went in there, the other way, and the doors opened soon after. So a little disappointment at the end which could have been avoided because 20 mins is important when you are due to leave on time. Ses Savines a la carte meal by the way - very sorry, can't recommend. Nice location, poor service, food nowhere near as good as the hotel. Visited Ses Estaques 12 years ago. Recommended to friends then, and still doing so now. Will definitely return, and looking forward to the refurbishments, which hopefully will include a dancefloor that can be properly used. Homely, friendly, professional. Oh and clean!!

Room Tip: High floor, overlooking pool and S Eulalia.

Just returned from a great holiday at the Ses Estaques. It was all we expected plus more. We wanted a relaxing holiday near the sea and got exactly that. The hotel facilities, the staff and the meals were first class.

Rooms could do with a little update as they are looking a little tired . Would definately return to this hotel. Thanks for a great holiday.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor for better view poolside and sea view.

This was our second visit to this hotel .We liked is so much in 2012 we decided to celebrate our ruby wedding anniversary there this year. We were not disappointed. The reception staff were excellent and could not do enough for us. We were quickly dealt with and were in our room within 15 minutes of arrival. Our room was very clean and was kept in that condition by the maid every day.On the day of our anniversary we had a complimentary bottle of champagne delivered to our room. The restaurant was as before spacious ,air conditioned ,the staff were every friendly and we were laughing and joking with them all week. The choice of food at both breakfast and evening meal was excellent .there was something for everyone. The bar staff were very pleasant and efficient.
The situation of the hotel is excellent ,is is very peaceful and quiet ,as an adult only hotel should be. There are abundant sun loungers and parasols, there is no need to get up at the crack of dawn to get a sun lounger. because of the position of the hotel we found we were bathed in sunshine all day. There is great promenade right outside the hotel that takes you into Santa Eulalia with numerous bars and restaurants. , we found numerous places alongside the marina .
for a relaxing holiday and to get pampered by the staff i would recommend this hotel to anyone. Many of its customers repeat guests and having stayed there twice myself i can understand why. We shall definitely be returning again in the future

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent. But if you opt for a room with a sea view, corner suite at the front ,you w...
