“Invisa Figueral Resort Hotel Cala Blanca”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2013

Visited the Invisa Figueral Resort from 18th July until 1st August 2013 on an All Inclusive package deal with Jet 2 Holidays. This is a family orientated resort made up of 2 Hotels the Cala Verde and Cala Blanca. We stayed at the Cala Blanca in a premium Room with sea view, 2 adults and 2 children aged 5 and 2.

Checkin: We were dropped off at the Cala Verde (sister Hotel) and were then transferred by mini bus to the Cala Blanca a short ride away, however on check out we were picked up at the Cala Blanca. Checkin was quick and we were transported to our room in a golf buggy. The initial room was in Block D but did not have a sea view which we had paid for, so I quickly returned to reception and complained, they were unable to provide another room until the next day but we were transferred to a room with sea view the following afternoon.

Room: The Premium room with ocean view was situated in the main reception building was quiet and modern and clean with 4 single beds all in a row with no gaps in between. Facilities included AC, Kettle, tea and coffee and sugar but no milk. A fridge stocked with a welcome pack of miniature Smirnoff Vodka, JB Whiskey, Bacardi and Gordons Gin. One tin of coke and 1 tin of tonic water, a packet of maltesers and a packet of nuts and 2 bottles of water. This welcome pack came included but can also be bought for 10 Euros at reception. Flat screen TV with only 1 english channel - Sky News. there where Spanish, German, French and Italian Channels also. Bathroom with toilet, shower, sink, towels, soap, shampoo and showergel, small sewing kit and 2 combs. Large balcony accessed through mirrored glass patio doors with 3 sun longer beds, 2 chairs and a table. The room had a safe, which accommodated all our valuables like, passports, cash, cameras, phones, small computer tablet, not large enough for a laptop, handheld computer games and 2 portable DVD players. Reception provide a key for the safe for 12 Euros, which is returnable on return of the key and original receipt. There was a large sliding door wardrobe which easily held all our clothes. Telephone, desk and 2 chairs. Beach towels are available at a deposit of 20 Euros each from reception, you get a receipt and a card for each towel, keep the reciept safe and take the cards to the lifeguard who will exchange them for towels. The money is refundable at reception on return of the cards and original receipt.

TIP. Take portable DVD Players if the kids like movies etc as there is nothing in English that is suitable for children on TV, or for adults unless you like updates of the same news every 15 minutes.

Food and Drink: We took the all inclusive package which included breakfast 0745 - 1030, lunch 1pm - 3:30pm, snacks 3:30pm - 6:55pm and dinner 7pm - 10pm. There was a buffet style restaurant which did themed nights such as Italian, Argentinian. Mexican, Spanish, Sea Food, Chinese etc. The food was good with a varied selection and there was a small kids section which did the usual, nuggets, chips, pizza, salad etc. Beer, red, white and rose wine, Coke, Fanta, Sprite, Water, where all on tap on a self serve basis. Tea and coffee etc.

We witnessed no queue jumping or rudeness during mealtimes although there was plenty of bussling during peak times.

Snacks were only available to All Inclusive guests and where mainly hot dogs, burgers, chips, pizza etc.

There was also the Marina Restaurant which did BBQ lunch and themed dinners but had to be booked 24 hours in advance, the views form this restaurant are spectacular but the food quality was poor and the selection for kids non existant.

Ice cream is available at all locations, including the bars. All inclusive package included only three or four types at the bar but you could buy other brands if you wished.

One thing we found unusual, having been to all inclusive resorts many times that did not adopt this approach was that you were given a card which monitored your use of the buffet, you where only allowed one visit to each sitting and if you went to the Marina restaurant and found it not to your taste, your card was already marked and you could not get into the buffet and would be turned away. This is crazy and when my kids would not eat anything at the Marina Restaurant I simply took them to the buffet and squeezed passed when the card checker was busy with other customers, I see no point in having the card system, you are all inclusive and have a band so why the need to mark you in. Also what if you were in a family group but wanted to attend at seperate times once one had gone in the card is marked as though all have. If you have trouble with this just go around the side as we did.

All inclusive drinks included most branded drinks such as Smirnoff, Bacardi, Gordons, Drambuie, Heineken, San Miguel, various whiskeys etc but you have to ask for it by name or you will be served the cheaper brands. Drinks after 11pm have to be paid for.

TIP: Make sure you wear shoes in the buffet, they dont provide plastic tumblers for drinks, they are wine style glasses and every sitting you hear the smash as another kid drops a glass on the floor.

Also get to breakfast before 0930 as a cattle stampede starts around then and it is difficult to find a table even though the buffet seats 650 people.

Entertainment: Pirate Island Splash park opens 10am - 7pm. It has slides and very shallow water but keep the little ones away from the tipping buckets which dumps gallons of water every 2 minutes with a force that will knock them over. It has a drinks bar too. There is a mini club for over 3s with supervised activities 10 -1pm amd 4pm - 6pm. This has a small pool and playground with a shaded area for drawing etc. You can just take your kids into the playground if you wish and monitor them yourself. There is also a small playground close to the marina restaurant.

Mini Disco, with costume characters but this does not start until 8:30pm which I thought was a bit too late.

Evening shows start at 10pm, run sometimes by the Hotel animation team who work very hard all day and sometimes professionals come in, there is a 2 week schedule for shows such as chinese acrobats, flamenco dancing, mimed shows like we will rock you, broadway etc the african show was very entertaining. With young children I was dissapointed that the shows started so late as it meant the kids were tired but wanted to see the shows so forced themselves to stay awake and with a lack of entertainment in English on TV, it was very limited for them, if you took the kids to bed you missed the show and you yourself would be bored in the room with nothing on TV to watch. Some guests took children back to the rooms, then returned, leaving them behind but this is something I personally would never do.

Activity pool, close to beach, family pool close to reception, adult only pool in front of reception and indor Spa pool with jacuzzi which is operated by tokens from reception.

3 Pool Tables are located near the SPA pool, 1 euro per play.

Beach: crystal clear water and soft sand with excellent views, sunbeds and parasols have to be paid for on the beach so just take a towel with you if that is an issue.

TIP: There were plenty of beds available around all pools up until about 9:30. There are some towel reservers, we saw some people reserve 4 beds at 08:10 and then they did not return until 17:10 meaning the beds where unused all day. By this time the beds where in the shade. No prizes for guessing their nationality but it seems to be a national pastime for some people. If you get to the pool by 0900 there will be ample choice available.

Other: there is a small SPAR shop selling the essentials you may need just across the street from the hotel and toward the beach there is a souvenire shop which sells a range of gifts inlcuding perfumes, clothes etc. There are some inflatables, water pistols etc here and they are cheap to buy and were perfectly adequate. The cheaper souvenires are just that so I wouldnt buy to bring home as they fall apart quickly, such as purses, bracelets, sand filled animals, fans etc.

The hotel is situated on a Hill and there are a lot of steep inclines, not really suitable for those with walking diificulties. We had a push chair and not all routes allow easy access due to the steps, there are ramps but not on every route so you sometimes have to take a longer route to get to where you want to be.

Overall we had a good holiday, staff are very friendly and hotel is clean and tidy with excellent views. With some minor improvements to the All Inclusive package and the entertainment times with some more choice of english language TV this could be an excellent resort but I guess it caters for the wider european market who tend to eat later in the evening.

Room Tip: Premium rooms are better equipped than standard and upgrades are available in resort from 12 euros p...

We actually stayed at Cala Verde but as the two hotels share facilities, we spent most of our time at Cala Blanca. This hotel has more space, two separate pools, an adults only pool with lounge area. It has extensive well maintained grounds and direct access onto a lovely beach. The rooms are comparable to Cala Verde, comfortable 3 star standard.
Staff are friendly and efficient. If you are travelling as a couple, you will probably find this hotel more comfortable, but Cala Verde offers better sea views.
Nice location, well recommended.

A really enjoyable stay and highly recommended. A lovely hotel in a lovely location. The facilities are of very high standard and kept very clean. The scenery is stunning while you have our meals and the food was excellent with a different theme each night. You can use both hotels (Carla Verde) which we quite often did. The staff were so friendly and we were particularly impressed with Piero who went out of his way to look after us, as well as other guests. He organised a new room for us which was much better. We came as a couple so cannot comment much on the animation team but they did appear to work very hard with the children and they seemed to be enjoying it. We used the adult only pool which was lovely and quiet with no problem getting a sun bed. The night entertainment was rather mixed and not always to our taste, a lot of shows on but it would have been more fun to have entertainment with more guest interaction, although they did have a quiz night one night. We hired a car one day which was well worth it as it is easy to get around Ibiza and visited the caves at San Miquel then onto Ibiza town then watched the sun set at San Antonio, all well worth doing. Buses are laid on daily by the hotel to Sant Eulalia free of charge and well worth using to visit the local town. It wasn't a problem at all that you were secluded as plenty to do and the area is so beautiful. First visit to Ibiza and there is no doubt it is a stunningly beautiful island to visit, ignore the reputation of party island.

We stayed here for a week in May and had a lovely stay. The hotel is joined with the Cala Verde and you can use all the facilities in both hotels. There is a childrens pool with a pirate ship in an enclosed area which has a small bar and toilet area. There are several other pool areas as well which are all surrounded by sun beds. We travelled with a three year old and made good use of the park area next to the childrens pool.

The hotel itself was clean and the staff were all friendly and enthusiastic. We were all inclusive and the food was good. Breakfast has all the usual things you would expect and runs from 7.30 to 10.00. Lunch and dinner usually consisted of chips, a rices, pasta, sauces, freshly cooked meat and fish, vegetables, salads and a couple of other dishes. The standard of food was really good and we never got bored of what was served. The drinks are great and include and the 'brand' names like Malibu and Smirnoff. There are ice creams and juices for kids avaible all day too and the bar cooks hot dogs and pizza throughout the afternoon.

There was a childrens disco every evening followed by another show.

The hotel itself is on a small beach which is small, but convienent, but is otherwise quite a long way from anywhere else. We had a car and would definately recommend hiring one if you want to venture out of the hotel. One other couple paid over 50 euros just to get to Ibiza town for the day.

Excellent hotel, staff fantastic and so helpful, animation team really funny and great with kids and not in your face, food amazing different food constantly so didn't get bored even the way they do potatoes every night there was 3 types at least, branded alcohol, and wine and beer is lovely, pools were fantastic, great park area, beach was beautiful and if you order picnic day before restaurant give you a picnic so you can stay on beach all day, bus trips good, cleanliness excellent, they have there own photographer that goes round which was great as she took some amazing photos that we wouldn't have got and reasonable prices, cannot fault anything but would highly recommend cala blanca rather than verde as its central to everything room 4104 and that block the best as huge terrace can't wait to go back

Room Tip: Book cala blanca as its central to everything rather than verde if you have children

We booked for one week all inc. with my Wife, 2 year old and Wife's parents. During the booking process we believed that we were staying in the sister hotel which is Cala Verde, about 1/4 mile walk away.

I read a tip on here to email the hotel and request an upgrade, we had two rooms booked, my wife and I booked a twin/double and the in-laws booked a Junior Suite for an extra £200. I emailed Cala Verde twice in the two weeks leading up requesting upgrade but got no reply......when we got there I realised why.

After a half hour transfer, the bus actually dropped us off at Cala Verde, we walked into reception and were told they had no booking for us but we were taken to Cala Blanca. Check in was confusing as they had us all booked into the Junior Suite, I showed the paperwork and they "found" us our twin/room.

We got to the twin room(number 4008) first and were a little disheartened, it was very small and had a musty smell about it when the air con was on. Were not too worried though as we would spend most of our time in Junior Suite and only used twin to sleep in. Out of the two the twin was much quieter anyway.

Junior Suite(2204) was very nice, separate bedroom with nice sea view......the only thing we found annoying was the fact that the bedroom was only separated from bedroom next door by a paper thin wardrobe, any noise at all from next door is heard and sleep was not easy if your neighbours came in late.

Rooms cleaned daily by very efficient cleaners.

Food was great, well cooked, fresh and stacks of choice, restaurant staff also very friendly.

Drinks were also good, if you wanted brand named alcohol you had to ask though otherwise you got the cheap local alternative. Brands including Heineken, San Miguel, Smirnoff, Beefeater, Gordons, and Bacardi are all available for AI, steer clear of the cocktails though as they are ready mixed and a bit rubbish.

Animation Team were fantastic, they asked everybody all of the time to join in their daft games and never pressurised anyone who couldn't be bothered. They had a mini disco at 8.30 every night which our 2 year old absolutely adored. Very friendly bunch.

Beach is down 20 steps and clean, nudist area towards the left which we were not expecting but didn't bother us at all. Sea also clean but could catch the kids out with the odd high wave.

3 pools, one for adults only, also a chill out bar on an evening for adults but you hav eto pay for any drinks bought there.

Seemingly they put most of the British in Cala Verde as Cala Blanca was mostly occupied by French and German guests with a smattering of Italian, Dutch and British.

Was a bit remote and we hired a car for a couple of days to go to Ibiza Town and Playa Bassa which is near San Antonio, would recommend visit to both of these places.

All in all a great holiday, would have had a better mark but for the whole check in process.

Room Tip: Block 4 has quiet rooms on ground floor but they are standard rooms. Block 2 has nicer rooms but can...
