“Fantastic hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2009

Stayed at the Grupotel Santa Eulalia for 2 weeks and could not fault it. The hotel is in a lovely peaceful location yet only a 10 - 15 minute level walk to the marina and centre of the resort. We had a lovely room overlooking the pool, and the entire hotel and grounds are immaculate and well kept. The hotel staff were so friendly, especially the reception staff and Lidia (our waitress in the restaurant). Really enjoyed the spa, spending lazy days by the pool, not forgetting Mango's beach bar.
Would recommend taking the boat to Ibiza town (slower but much more scenic than the bus), and a trip to the hippy market. It does get very hot and busy, so go early. We hired a car for 3 days which was enough to see the whole island. The beach at Cala de Sant Vicent in the north of the island was lovely.
Overall, a brilliant holiday. Can't wait to go back.

The hotel is very nice, clean, good size rooms, has lovely pool area and very relaxing environment. Our only criticism is that the food is repetitive and not great quality. There are no restaurants nearby so the alternative is to go into the main resport.
The hotel is outside of the main resort but is just a flat 10-15 mins to walk to the marina end of the main resort. We walked into town on a few evenings and paid 5 euros for a taxi to take us back to the hotel. I recommend the resort itself - quite clean, cosmopolitain and great choice of places to eat in the marina and in town.
The benefit of the Grupotel's location is that the grounds are less compact than the hotels we saw in the resort, it is very quiet and relaxing - especially sitting on the loungers in the area under the pine trees which lie between the pool and the sea. There are steps down the 2-3m high rocks into the sea. The rocks are very rough so I'd recommend reef shoes. For easy access to the sea, there is a small beach 10 mins walk away along the costal path, although we didn't go there.
The hotel met our holiday needs (which was to do little and recharge). Overall we enjoyed it very much and plan to return - which is a first. It depends what kind of holiday you want. Contrary to other reports we had no problems getting sun loungers by the pool. The pool area is a good size and you are not packed in like sardines. Sometimes tasteful music is played from the pool bar but generally it is quiet by the pool - no activities or noisy children - in fact we saw just three children all week. I'd not recommend this place for children as its out of town and there are few facilities here for them. Most guests were over 40 and were couples. The hotel puts on entertainment three nights per week - the standard was mxied.
The hotel is near to two supermarkets and the Tropic Gardens aparthotel (which looked nice although was much bigger and busier than the Grupotel). Car and bike hire is available nearby. The main road between Santa Eularia to EsCana is just 50m away so easy to catch a bus to either resort. We took a taxi to the Hippy Market in EsCana - cost 5 euros. Tip if going to the hippy market, get there by 10am - it gets uncomfortably busy. For info, the stalls get repetitive so no need to try to see al of the many, many stalls which are there.

My wife and I are 50s plus and were looking for high standard Hotel in a quiet location for a relaxing weeks holiday. We were not disappointed with our choice. Lets begin by saying what impressed us. A warm greeting from the reception staff on arrival. I asked for and was given a room on the 1st floor which was absolutely immaculately clean and well decorated. Later, the receptionist even asked if I was happy with my room! That's a first for me in any hotel I've stayed in before! The grounds and amenities were carefully maintained and in excellent condition. The staff members we came into contact with were all pleasant and helpful. (The reception staff especially - who all spoke good English). We've read varying comments about the food here but we thought there was a wide choice and the standard was very good.
The Hotel is situated on the seafront about a 15 minute walk from the harbour and shops in Santa Eulalia. You can take the coastal path which is very scenic. It's about 100m to the bus stop giving you access to all the other parts of the Island.
OK - what about the downside! Well for us there were none but if you are looking for nightly entertainment in the Hotel - there is only a show about 3 times a week. There is no entertainment for children - but then this is not a Hotel that really caters for them. So, all in all a great place for a laid back chill break. Oh! one more thing - take your PC Notebook or WiFi device because FREE WiFi is available in the reception area.

....only because it's a bit of a walk to main centre and walking along the sea cliff in the dark is a bit daunting.
The hotel itself is perfectly adequate. There was loads of food to choose from, yes some nights were repetative but who cares. This was the 1st half board holiday my boyfriend had been on and he was in heaven at breakfast/dinner times.
The rooms were cleaned everyday.
We went down to the pool area approx. 9 am each day to lay our towels out [everyone does it so why complain if there's no sun loungers ((get up sooner))] then went off to breakfast.
Hotel is right by the sea but there is no area to sunbathe on golden sand but there is one a short walk away where you have to pay for the beds.
Nice little bar by the side of the hotel. Otherwise the rest of the nightlife is about 25 mins walk away but hey you're on holiday.
Lovely spa area with steam rooms/ gym etc which does get busy in the afternoon so go in the morning, it was always empty then. The hotel offers a free Turkish bath but when we asked for one they didn't have a clue what one was (clearly they haven't experienced a real Turkish bath) - well I am in Ibiza I suppose. I'll go to Turkey nice time for one.
Only niggle i would have was the rip off it costs to keep your room an extra night. I can't remember exactly but it was 100 euros upwards. So we decided against that and camped in their reception till stupid o'clock (if you're luck you can sneak some food from the dining area).
Why people moan about the star ratings i don't know. You're not in England so you can't expect English standards.

We could not fault this hotel. It has everything you need, good food, good pool, good sunbeds, good indoor spa and good staff. The views were fantastic, especially the shaded area near the pool where you could take your sunbed and look out straight to sea! Pleasant walk to the centre although sometimes a bit long in the heat! the harbour is great, nice bars and restaurants to people watch. Ibiza Town is 30 euros in a taxi or 3 euros on a bus but well worth it! San Antonio about the same. Definetly the best hotel and best value for money in Santa Eulalia.

Nice hotel, staff very helpful especially receptionists. Food was average, entertainment was poor. Indoor swimming pool was very nice as we used it alot due to the weather.
Walk into town was about 15mins not nice walking back at night as there were no street lights.
Overall more positives than negatives.

We enjoyed our time at this hotel, staff were excellent. Unfortunately we booked a trip with First Choice it was cancelled due to bad weather, we still cannot get a refund from First Choice. We would happily book with Grupotel Hotels, but will never use or recommend First Choice.

  • Liked — Spacious Room, Cleanliness
  • Disliked — Too far too walk into the town if not 100% fit.
