“Great hotel with wonderful staff”
Reviewed 16 September 2013

We have just returned from a 12 night stay at this lovely hotel. We had booked a prestige suite - the suite is on two floors with the upper floor on the roof with sunbeds and jacuzzi - and were shown to a lovely room on the side of the hotel overlooking the river and St Eulalia. Unfortunately the smell from the river was terrible so we moved to another room in another block. We have been told that the river is due to be dredged to prevent this smell In future. It was a lovely room with a staircase up to a roof terrace complete with hot tub - see photos. The bed was very comfortable but sadly at about 6am the next morning a disco started in the next room!! We complained and were moved again this time to room 2409. At last we settled in. There were a few niggles with the room but overall it was very good. The bed was very comfortable and there was an amazing shower. The massage bath wasn't very comfortable and quite difficult to get in and out of.

The housekeeping was excellent. Everything was clean and fresh and the prestige suite has the benefit of a turndown service and that was excellent too.

The Spa is excellent and the massages are amazing. I think it's a good thing there is a charge for using the spa. If it was free it would be packed out and certainly not very relaxing. If you book a treatment you only pay an extra 10 Euros to use the spa and you could stay in there all day!

The buffet the first night was disappointing. The plates were cold and so was a lot of the food. We did complain and this was corrected by the following evening. We are not buffet people but there was certainly a good choice and a cooking station for fresh meat and fish. Breakfast is very good.

Do try La Vinoteca and Monsson the two a la carte restaurants in the hotel. If you are on half board you only have to pay a €20 supplement per person. The food is out of this world and must be some of the best food on the Island. We ate there six times during our stay.

The staff are absolutely wonderful and make this hotel. There are too many names to mention individually but Marisa and the staff in the buffet, Claus and all the staff at La Vinoteca/Monsoon and June, Gemma and all the staff on reception. Everywhere in the hotel the staff are delightful from the maintenance man to the top of the management team.

This is hotel for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. If you want noise and music go to St Antonio.
We would recommend the hotel.
Thank you.

Room Tip: Presitge suites have a roof terrace with sunbeds, umbrella and jacuzzi.

Stayed here with my husband for a week at the beginning of Sept. The hotel is well-located just away from the main strip of restaurants etc so it's a nice quiet area next to the river. We were upgraded to a prestige room which was a nice touch with a view of the river, town and a glimpse of the sea.
Having experienced 5 star hotels in the US, Asia and in other European countries (Mykonos Grand is a perfect example), this did not come up to these standards and there are a number of basics which means this is really a 4 star place. There should be free bottled water in the rooms daily, tea/ coffee making facilities, mattresses of some sort on the sun beds, and the spa pools should be free for guests (not €33 per day each person!). The staff are friendly, but the pool drinks service was sporadic and room service was poor. My husband ordered coffee to be sent to the room each morning (as there are no facilities to make it) before he went to the gym, but his request was forgotten every morning despite a couple of reminders. We also asked for a bottle of champagne to be put in the room as we arrived for a celebration but this didn't arrive until 2 hours after we got to the room, when we'd got fed up of waiting and went out for a walk, so the ice had melted by the time we got back. The gym opens at 9:30am (had to bang on the door a couple of mornings as it was still closed at 9:40am), and breakfast finishes at 10:30am so you are hard-pushed to get a work out in before eating but I appreciate that this may not be a major issue for most people when relaxing on holiday! Breakfast is good and the choice on offer means there's something for everyone and again, staff are welcoming and friendly. Prices are high for rooms, drinks and food (€15 for club sandwich) but expected in a hotel with 4/5 stars. Overall it was a nice holiday, but not our best experience; a few small tweaks will improve the hotel considerably.

Room Tip: If you can afford it, go for the suites on the top floor which are split level and with your own hot...

Dear guest,

Thank you for your comments; we are very sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay with us. We have taken your comments very seriously and we will look forward to ameliorate them in the future.
The Gym is officially opened at 9:30 but if any client needs it before, we always open the doors, for anyone to use it. We are also looking into providing some tea and coffee facilities to put in the rooms for the future.

We will be very happy to see you soon again at any of our hotels.

Fabulous hotel, arrived by private taxi to stunning looking building, breathe taking entrance and reception area. So peaceful and relaxing, nothing too much trouble for the staff. All rooms are suites, clean, spacious and well designed storage. Bathrooms amazing with very large separate shower and his and hers basins. Very clean in all areas of the hotel, pool side beds and cabanas very good. Sitting by the pool is quiet and relaxing, no fighting for space or a quiet corner.
Our only negative points are that we booked B&B basis and ate in the restaurant for one night, which wasn't value for money, although food & service very good just far too expensive, same with the drinks at poolside. We don't go on holiday and watch tv, but having stayed at 4* hotels which have had a full range of English tv channels, it was disappointing to find no channels available.
Would recommend and certainly stay here again on B & B basis.

Room Tip: All rooms are good, you can request quiet rooms, that don't overlook the pool area.

This was our 2nd year at the hotel and was not dissapointed again with only a few minor dissapointments but nothing major.
We stayed on half board basis booked through sovereign holidays and managed to get a good deal on the half board which was almost £500 cheaper than Thomsons.
The food was excellent with a good variety and even staying 14 nights we found that wasn't to repetative. The staff in the restuarant area are fantastic and cannot do enough to help and are always cheerful.
The pool area is clean and of a good size if you want to have a good swim or just splash around also towels supplied each day, there are plenty beds with no need to come down early to reserve,we always had breakfast 1st then put towel on bed and there ways still plenty to choose from.
The rooms are of good size, very little noise at night(apart from last night, noisey neighbour) and the bathroom has the best shower I have experienced abroad.
MY dissapointments maybe trivial to some people but to me were important
1- the eating area's at the main restuarant and poolside bar have covered area's although technically outside people were smoking while other people were eating and I found this disgusting as a non smoker. One night we sat next to 4 Germans who had 16 cigarettes during the time we eat,we eventually moved to the inside restuarant. There was also children in the area,I don't now who is to blame partly both, but some people can be very ignorant but other generally Brits went away from area to have thier cigarette. This also happened at the poolside bar so I didn't go back.
The sunbeds are very uncomfortable if your on them all day, other 5 star hotels I have been to have padded cusions which make it more comfortable and still feel they are to close together.
my other moan is that some people seem to think that the world will colapse if they don't have thier mobile with them so make sure everybody else hears the conversation, these people need to get a life.
lastly I dont normally bother about tv when on holiday but due to rain was stuck in room for 2 days so had no option but watch tv,all they have is sky news in English repeating the same thing every 10 mins, not a major problem but it had plenty german speaking channels.
The hotel is difficult to meet people cause as discribbed in previous reports the drink is very expensive and no real entertainment people generally go into the town for entertainment.
There is plenty of good bars with Mariners def the best for live music.
Do not be put off with my dissapointments as this is a very good hotel for a holiday, very relaxing with fantastic staff especially the restuarant staff and I would definately go back especially if they could sort out the smoking in the eating area's or people could be less ignorant
the A/C in the room is the quitiest i have encountered

Room Tip: top rooms are on two levels and look amazing we prefer higher up to lessen the noise would recomme...

Stayed at the Fenicia Prestige the last week in August & i must say the Hotel is amazing, located in a beautiful area of Santa Eulalia 2mins from beach & all shops & restaurants, all of the staff are more than helpfull & can't do enough for you, food is excelent with so much choice, pool area is great we had our 2 year old daughter with us & she absolutley loved the kids pool.
The only slight down side with this Hotel is that in the evenings there is no entertainment or even background music & the drinks are extortionately priced which is why you will find the bar area to to be empty most nights even if you have room service you instantly get a 7euro service charge!!!
Overall I would still say this is a very good Hotal & well worth its 5star status.

Room Tip: if you can pay that little extra & have the hot tub suites, amazing!!

We first stayed at the hotel 6 years ago so our return was with interest to see if it was still as good. We need not have worried, it is still a lovely hotel which despite near to capacity was quiet and there was always a sun bed (they are not the most comfortable but are going to be replaced next year). All the staff were courteous and attentive and the food was excellent.
During our stay it was my 50th birthday, the staff were aware and left me a birthday cake in our room with a congratulation letter, this was a nice touch and shows they are keen to please.
I have read several comments on trip advisor criticizing the cost of the drinks which appear expensive 9 euros for a gin and tonic but it is more than a double measure as they just pour the gin in front of you without a measure!
we booked with Sovereign holidays with a deal offering half board so did not appreciate the cost of the evening meal. At breakfast and diner the choice was overwhelming, fresh and well presented. we also ate at the poolside restaurant for lunch which was very good and the Japanese restaurant which offered great choice, very good service and came with a supplement of 20 euros.
Our room was ready when we arrived 11am, spacious with a large balcony, wood floor was lifting but was not a problem. It would be good to have more than one English channel on the TV but it did not matter to us, water in the room is normally expected these days but was not provided, however, as it is free at breakfast we took a couple of bottles to our room.
We would be very happy to stay at the hotel again, it is worth looking at the package deals as Thompson were more expensive than Sovereign despite being part of the same group!

We have just come home from a 4 night stay at this beautiful hotel in a great location.
We have stayed in quite a lot of 5 star hotels and are generally quite fussy,so on our arrival our room was fabulous ,contempory and with a great pool view.(room 1117) and we could not fault it in any way.
we were only bed and breakfast of which there was a great choice. we chose to go out for lunch and diner which suited our stay as we were celebrating with friends near by.
The staff were all friendly and the hotel is spotless and the pool area very nice, the garden area seemed a little muddy could be my only very minor complaint ,it had a very calm and relaxing energy about it which was just what we wanted. We would definitely like to be return again, hopefully next year .I would like to bring my 6 year old next time as the area is perfect for families also, but fabulous for a couples break.would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a classy ,relaxing break.
