“Great hotel but could do better!”
Reviewed 22 September 2010

We stayed in a prestige junior suite which was most impressive. It was stylish, modern, clean, spacious and with the added bonus of a rooftop sun terrace complete with private jacuzzi & sunbeds - the perfect place for an all-over sun tan! The main swimming pool is a great size and there were plenty of sunbeds available most of the time.
Staff & service were very good. Food; could do better! The breakfast buffet, whilst looking impressive, was badly let down by the food in the "cooked" area which, every day, was almost cold. Despite pointing this out to the restaurant manager on day two nothing changed for the duration of our 11 night stay. The food in the Vinoteca restaurant on the one night we ate there was excellent. The food in the Monsoon restaurant was brilliant the first time and awful the second. The Tanit pool bar was very good.
Never once were we asked if we had had a nice stay or if everything was ok for us. Overall, a great stylish hotel. A little impersonal and definitely in need of someone to take control of delivering consistent & hot food.

After a week in a remote villa north of the island, we stayed in this hotel for a few nights before the end of our trip to Ibiza.

We were greeted at reception by a very pleasant young lady who proceeded to give us an upgrade to a junior suite, which was very nice. The room was well thought out, giving you an instant feeling of relaxation due to its lighting and calming decor. The bathroom is large, separated from rest of the room by a glass and timber framed wall, with a good full body and power shower, separate bath and his and her sinks. The bed is enormous with a choice of pillows, while the generous sofa expands out to provide a double bed for couples with children. The sony flatscreen has an adequate assortment of excellent foreign entertainment and uk news channels (as per usual). My only gripe is the 21 euros a day wifi - why can't it just be free!(like it was for me on the first day due to a technical mistake).

The breakfast consists of an array of excellent food - from bacon and eggs to caviar and salmon, with numorous healthy options such as fruit or cereal, as well as plenty of drinks from milkshake to Cava. Yes, real fill your boots stuff.

Then ensued the daily sunbed challenge. As beds were very limited in the heavily shaded pool area, only the fittest (and rather desperate) managed to covet the all day sun drenched beds and 'pods' - after a week of having my own pool with a choice of sunbeds I just couldn't be bothered taking part in the event, not only that, the beds weren't even cushioned(my 5 euros plastic lilo was far more comfortable), very 3 star indeed!

Parking at the hotel at the weekend is slightly manic, with everyone using the park in the free spaces outside the Insotel and walk into Santa Eularia system. Quite understandably )though, as ticketed parking (something like 25 cents a day for the locals, 1 euro an hour for the tourist) in Santa Eularia seems to be spreading like a nasty rash.

Overall, we had a very nice stay here, the staff are very attentive but not intrusive and the hotel makes for a very pleasant experience. Also, its location next to Santa Eularia is very handy.

My husband and I booked a 4 night break at this hotel. We were looking for a relaxing break and we certainly achieved this. However we felt that although the hotel looks like a five star it falls short in a number of areas.
Service was OK, some really miserable staff! Although reception were excellent, very helpful.
Our room was very nice. We were upgraded to a junior suite. My only issue was the shower enclosure looked a bit grubby and the glass partitions in the bathroom were very streaky- not expected for a 5 star.
Location great - plenty of small bars and restaurants around. Ferry port short walking distance away and we took a ferry to Ibiza Town early one evening which was really enjoyable.
Hotel decor deserves its 5 star rating, it creates a very calming and relaxing atmosphere. However the food quality lets it down badly. We had a few meals at the hotel and were very disappointed with them - in paticular the Thai Restauarant 'Monsoon' looked the business but did not deliver at all - this caused us to eat out in the main. Try the 'Amante Beach Club', between Sant Eul and Cala Longa - beautiful romantic setting and fantastic food and cocktails.
The hotel was not cheap and for us it was not the 5 star quality we were expecting. A real shame as it would not take much for this to be rectified.

The hotel is in a great location, and is great for those who like a relaxing holiday

The hotel has a nice calming effect , which you can also enjoy the luxury spa centre....

Rooms are very comfortable , and the extra touched are appreciated.

Good standard of hotel , well rated as a 5 star.

The hotel is fantastic. The lobby is ok with a bar and a library where you can read the daily newspapers and a good range of books, surf the internet or play some chess, checkers or backgammon.
The spa is also very good and relaxing.
The breakfast buffet is flawless. It has everything you may need for your breakfast, from a lot of different cereals to fresh fruit, cakes and biscuits, eggs, bacon, sausages, fresh juice. It's excellent.
The Tanit Restaurant (by the pool) is also very good and not too expensive. You can choose either the bar with some sandwiches, pastas or salads, or the restaurant where the "paellas" are really nice. Over here there's a real problem. You'll wait a lot of time for the waiters. if there's more than 4 tables occupied they get confused...(perhaps not very well trained?)
In the room everything was perfect!
Another thing to mention is the pool... it's really good with salt water. Firts days the hotel wasn't full so there was no problem to find a chair but at the third day that was tough. People started to put a towel or magazine in the chair and then only appeared by the afternoon... there are only about 100 places to lie down around the pool...
The beach doesn't have a concession from the hotel so if you want a chair in the beach you have to pay it...(that should change because you already pay a lot...)

Very nice people working there. All of them very friendly. It's one of the best if not the best hotel in Ibiza Island according some of the locals...

And if you're there don't forget to dinner at the restaurants "the gallery" and "Ca Na Ribes" in the restaurants street in Sta Eulalia.

Stayed on our honeymoon and received great service from all in the hotel.
Only slight negative was food at the pool bar; try the other two restaurants first as they served better food.

Service at the restaurants was poor, had to wait several minutes to clear the table and have the new place settings put down. Then our food was served before our drinks which we waited for several minutes.

In the room, we was upgraded to a Junior suite but in the room there was no hair dryer, there was no bottle opener for the mini bar. when calling the front desk they did not understand english so they said they would send someone. 2 hours later still no one arrived we ended up speaking with the front desk, and when we returned the hair dryer was in the room.

As for the turn down service this happened at 12am in a monday night. this was crazy due to the cleaning service had only left one pair of towels which we used for the Jacuzzi upstairs.

As for the breakfast, i asked for a latte and somehow we ended up with a pot of black coffee and milk.

i would add for the pool area there is not enough sun beds for guests, and for the money you pay i would expect a bed.

Overall poor experience for a expensive hotel and going forward i would recommend either Aguas De Ibiza Spa & Resort, Ibiza Hotel or Ibiza Gran Hotel

The Spa is only open from 9-2pm on Sunday so trying to book on Sunday Morning, after breakfast we could not book, nor for Monday day time. the only time available for after 5pm on monday night which we where flying back as this was only a 2 night stay.

Wi-fi in the lobby is free but the business suite you need a pre paid card. in the rooms you need to pay for the wi-fi which is incredibly slow compared to a personal villa i stayed at before which i would recommend for the cost of this hotel if staying for a week
