“Breathtaking views - poor food”
Reviewed 29 July 2011

The location of the Cap Roig restaurant is second to none. Watch an amazing sunset from the top of a cliff with with views to the rough sea and rugged cliffs bordering the small bay of Mesquida. The menu is nothing out of the ordinary, and the food is mediocre and expensive. We had a boring seafood paella with just octopus in it apart from a few small shrimps. An avocado shrimp starter with a few of the same tiny shrimps and loads of thousand island dressing: 14 euros! Lobster 148 euro a kg. Well worth a visit for the views, which are nothing less but amazing, though.

“The best seafood with an amazing view”
Reviewed 15 July 2011

This is a restaurant we never arrived at 10 years ago because we got lost on the pitch-dark dirt track running through a military zone. The road has been asphalted since and in the broad daylight we wondered how we could have got lost before.

We visited a delightfully unspoiled rocky beach called Mesquida then decided to have lunch at Cap Roig which is perched on the rocks with a wonderful view of the windy sea. For the whole week of our stay in Menorca we had fish everyday but the freshness and the quality of seabass and swordfish we had at Cap Roig was next to none. Recommend simple fish dish accompanied by refreshing chilled local white wine.
