“Could do better”
Reviewed 9 August 2014 via mobile

Nice location very friendly staff but poor room bad bed and bathroom from the 50 th. Of course there a swimming pool but so many beaches to visit that it is of no use. On the other side breakfast is rather ok. So you there if you do not intend to spend a lot of time in your room

We had a 1st floor corner room with views of the harbour and the pool area at the beginning of July. The hotel seemed to be fairly quiet and catered mainly for 1-2 night stays while we were there for a week. It was in a very Spanish residential area which was lovely and quiet with a few local shops minutes away, including a delightful bread/snack shop and a supermarket. There is no parking specifically for the hotel so it was first come first served but no charges. Every resident seemed to have a car so I imagine at the height of the tourist season it would be difficult to find a place.
The room was spacious with a super king bed, a small table and 2 easy chairs and spacious bathroom, together with a mini-bar. The only comment I would make is that there was no ventilation in the bathroom, no extract fan and the window was fixed shut so it could get steamy. Other than that we could find no fault and the room was serviced very well.
On our first day we were presented with a bottle of wine and cheese snack around 6pm which was a lovely gesture.
The breakfast was excellent with a massive choice of fresh fruit, local yoghurt as well as yoghurt pots, cereals, pastries, bread, cheeses, cold meats, biscuits, and if you wanted it, cooked to order eggs, bacon etc. and the breakfast room was bright and airy with harbour views.
The restaurant meals in the evening were also very good.
There is a large lounge area with a balcony, also overlooking the harbour but although there was a bar there we had to ask at reception each time for service - again, I guess at the height of the season, there would be a permanent barman.
The walk into the town was about 10 mins and about the same to the harbour if you used the steps near the hotel, not ideal for anyone who cannot walk very far and difficult for wheelchair users. There is a huge choice of restaurants/eateries along the harbour road.
Buses to all areas of the island run from the bus station on the edge of the town, very reasonably priced and fairly frequent.
All in all, would thoroughly recommend the hotel.

Room Tip: Corner rooms overlooking harbour spacious, would not really recommend terraced rooms at ground floor...

All the superior double rooms with a (small) terrace are on the ground floor - handy for the garden and pool but precious little privacy. I'd guess the best views of Mahon old town and harbour are from the upper floors, but they're standard rooms without a terrace/balcony. The room it self was fine; clean a reasonably spacious though the wardrobe seemed to be where the bathroom should have been. Sadly, no tea/coffee making equipment in the room and the Wi-Fi works only in and around the bar area. Like their hotel in Palma, the breakfasts are splendid - bacon and eggs cooked to order, cereals, fruit and a vast range of the usual European stuff. Cheerful, friendly staff. Car parking (free) is very difficult so be prepared for a longish walk if you don't strike it lucky. The walk into the old town is pleasant and manageable (10 to 15 minutes) but pretty much impossible for anyone with limited mobility.

Check in was okay, took quite a while and the queue was building fast but the lady was funny and cheeky and was nice to see someone enjoying their job.

Booked a basic room on the web site direct, really was basic so would choose an upgrade next time.

Didn't get the welcome drink or water on check-in so mentioned this later on in the evening and was given a bottle of Cava as 2 rooms booked and 2 x 2 Litres of water.

We also used the showers on the ground floor and was given fresh towels as our flight was late evening.
Only down side was the bar wasn't really serviced, Long delays for a nice drink on the balcony, and the pool could be clearer lots of dead insects laying on top of the water.

Would stay again but would pay for a better room.

Recently spent a lovely 5 day break at this great value hotel. Situated in a quiet residential area about 10 mins walk to the old town and a further 5/10 mins to the tapas bars and restaurants on the magnificent harbour. The bar, breakfast and dining rooms have a spectacular panoramic view of the harbour - absolutely superb. Only had breakfast which was 5 star - huge array of fresh fruit, bread, pastries, gorgeous Menorcan cakes and biscuits, juices, cereals, cheeses, meats and local delicacies; plus eggs and bacon cooked to order. Staff very cheery and helpful and all parts of the hotel were spotlessly clean. The room was a little dated, not masses of storage space but sufficient for our needs and nothing to complain about. There was a small fridge but it would have been handy to have a kettle. We were close to the lifts which, as some reviewers have already noted, are a little noisy so best to request a room away from these if you are a light sleeper! Pool was lovely in a secluded area although it was a little 'prickly' underfoot on the grassed area. These are only minor points and should not deter anyone from staying at this delightful hotel.

just spent 2 nights at this hotel, initially booked as it was a handy stopping off point, but was pleasantly surprised by our stay here. Very friendly and welcoming staff, immediate upgrade to a superior class of room. All rooms that I could see look out over the harbour, which is stunning. There is a pool which is well maintained and the rest of the hotel is also of a good standard. We had breakfast and the choice was enough to satisfy all tastes. It is a 10 minute walk into the old centre of Mahon, but that is not a problem when there is so much to look at on the walk.

This hotel overlooks the commercial port. ! It's a good five minutes walk from the town. The room was clean and tidy. Complimentary fruit bowl and bottle of water arrived with a welcome note just after we checked in. Nice touch that ! The beds comfy and the sheets I'm told are best Egyptian ones ! The breakfast was ample. Plenty of choice and I went for the healthy full English which is cooked fresh.
Now for the poor points. To be honest. Not really that bad. Place has been built with poor quality materials. The windows when you open them the whole panel shakes that's worrying. Could the whole thing fall out. And who ever plastered the place has not done a good job. There are noticeable mistakes everywhere you look. So it's is let down I think by a shoddy finish to the hotel. But there again I do like a moan !

One thing though. It is opposite the commercial
Port. So when Paco decides it's a good idea to start dredging the dock at 2am on a Sunday morning with the worlds noisiest dredger. It did not go down a treat ! Bring your own ear plugs ! But that's not the hotels fault
